The wife found out about this somewhere and decided that today would be a good day to hop and the bikes and go check it out.

its pretty neat, the fam and I go at least 1-2 times a year, watch for loose gravel in the corners if you are on a bike. ETA: the guy built it all by hand and all by himself through donations, and his decorative iron business.

That looks really neat! One of these days maybe the wife and I can take some mountain trips when she doesn't have to work on the weekends. :(

.......you said "bikes" Ray, does she have a bike as well?

That is a good drive from Denver for a day trip. Have a safe drive and take lots o pics!

its a really neat place. The guy that owns it is strange duck, but worth the drive for sure.

Ask him about his dad helping him build the castle.

That's not right man. Don't do it!

Because his father did not help him and he'll more than let you know that.

Well, we all know that he "didn't build that."

I'm sure our Commander in Chief was there mixing the mortar for him... [Rant1]

Yep. She rides her own. She's pretty bad ass for a chick. She rides a Sportster. We went just over 360 miles today. No way I would survive that kind of ride on a Sportster.

My riding buddies for the day. That's my wife on the left and her brother on the right.

There's our bikes. You can see them parked across the highway.

Here are a couple of shots of the outside, including the dragon.

Here's the only shot I thought to take of the inside.

Here's my wife at the end of a bridge. The castle is still a work in progress. I assume the bridge may end up going somewhere some day.

And here is a sign that tells you a little something about the owner/builder. I'm guessing he won't be voting for Obama or Romney this November.

That looks like a blast to go check out! Thanks for sharing the pics. I showed my oldest your pictures and he was like "Cool daddy, I want to go see the dragon castle!"

Now it is on my list............
