According to standard liberal reasoning of blaming the inanimate object, this magnet on my truck started a fight this afternoon. [ROFL1]
http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/6533/dsc00560um.jpg
While I completed my reserve duty today, my family was at...we'll call it an amateur sporting event to protect the innocent...in Parker today. Since my son's coach was sponsoring the event this month, they were staying late to help with the tear down and clean up. I got there right as they were wrapping up, helped throw some stuff in the trailer and pick up trash.
As I'm getting in my truck to head back to COS for dinner with the coach and team, a woman parks next to me and notices the truck magnet. The conversation went something like this:
Liberal: Right to bear arms, eh. That's what James Holmes had didn't he?
Me: Not anymore, he doesn't.
Liberal: (getting louder and a little shrill) Well, people died, how can you have that sticker???
I don't answer, because I'm tired, hungry and really don't want to have this conversation right now. I get in my truck and put the key in the ignition.
Liberal: (yelling) It's about time for some regulations!
Me: I disagree.
At this point I start the truck, drowning her out and leave the parking lot. Now, my wife is in her van behind me watching all this. The liberal now approaches her, perhaps expecting a sympathetic woman's ear -
Liberal: Can you believe he feels that way about guns still after all that's happened? It's his right he said. (very disdainfully and disapprovingly)
Wife: Uh, yeah. He's my husband.
Liberal: Well, he's an ass!
Wife: Well, so are you! It's the Second Amendment, you might want to look it up. Obama-lover!
At this point, my wife starts up her van and leaves as well. By now, my son's coach and his wife (she's a cop) have gotten out of their truck and the liberal starts yelling nonsense about how anyone can buy a Gatling gun and how gun control would have saved so many people. The cop begins to refute her with facts and at this point, the liberal shuts up and leaves.
Between the HOA's and people like this woman, I'm glad I don't live in Parker. At least we had a good time laughing about it over dinner! [Beer]

Can't fix stupid. Glad you stood your ground and left just in time.
You did the right thing and got out of there. No need to have a public scene with someone who's spoiling for a fight and is just looking for an audience/soapbox.

Colorado is getting swamped w/ such libtards.
Well, she is correct. If there were NO guns at all, there would be no shooting, making criminal gun crimes go down pretty drastic (to be partially replaced by knives, clubs, machettes - remember huttu and tootsi? Hack Hack.
He probably would have done something bigger and badder.
And if there were no guns, how about no electricity and electric motors. She would have 10 kids and be doing household chores every day, and wouldn't have time enough to be a GOOFY LIBERAL! Would she also want to ban swords? Knives? Kitchen knives? Gee, until some OTHER race of people invented the knife, sword, and came over and took over the country, and then POOF! NO MORE GOOFY WHITE LIBERALS. Then the non-whites developed guns and Bob's your Uncle. The end
Colorado is getting swamped w/ such libtards.
Fleeing 'Diversity' in California, and New York, and the taxes it takes to run a Democratic state. Most of Colorado's Americans are from Blue states I'd imagine, and its probably not my imagination.

Yep, they won't take responsibility for how their liberal polices f'd those places up. Now they have go somewhere else (Colorado, Wyoming, Alaska) and f' that up too.[Bang]

Yep... In-laws live in Parker. I asked them to hang on to a few of my guns when the Air Force sent me to California, and I knew I had nothing to worry about. They wouldn't touch a gun with a 10 foot pole! hahaha Every time we go up to visit them, they talk about how great Obamacare is and how the dear leader is doing America a favor... Sometimes I literally stand up an walk out of the room when they are pooping out of their mouths. [Bang]

It's better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you are an idiot, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Guess she showed you. [LOL]

I understand the call to ban or restrict firearms further by people who blame objects, but I could kill just as many or more people at one time with any number of objects. The difference is that I do not have murderous intent, nor the desire to kill anyone. Normal people do not desire to commit murder on as many people as possible. Murder is already illegal, with any weapon.
HEY! Not all that live in Parker are idiots. Glad you stuck it to her and left when you did. Nothing like a shrill harpie looking for a soapbox to spew from.

Just start off by asking her why is she screaming HATE SPEECH! Why does she HATE you and why is she so INTOLERANT and trying to hide her RACISM!
Use their own TALKING POINTS and let them try to defend them. Tell her that you are against the 1st Amendment HATE SPEECH and that her EXTREMIST, RADICAL RANTING might indicate she is a potential MASS MURDERER!
LABEL HER LIKE SHE KNEE JERK REACTS TO ANYTHING THEY DISAGREE WITH!
SHUT HER DOWN AND PUNISH HER like the TOTALITARIANISM they so much desire!
Or just say FUCK YOU and good day.

Where'd you get the magnet? I want one!!

There's a time and place to exercise your "rights". Parker is very close to Aurora and it's too soon after the theater shooting to display a magnet that like. It puts all gun owners in a negative light and only strengthens the argument of the anti-gun liberals. You were obviously trying to make a political statement and no doubt you were looking to get a reaction out of someone by having that magnet on your truck. Just because you have a right doesn't mean you have to always exercise it. It was very poor judgment on your part
Having a magnet on your truck that obviously identifies you as a gun owner is confrontational and offensive so soon after the Aurora shootings. You got exactly the reaction you were looking for. In my opinion the police should've taken your magnet and issued you a summons for disorderly conduct.

That actually is kind of a good point Bailey. Not quite as serious as the previous discussion- but- point taken.

You should know that about me by now! I'm all up for the argument- if I think I'm right- but I'm the first to fess up when proven wrong or if someone else on the other side makes a point I agree with. Yes I did read the article/interview with OC man. It does make him sound less of an antagonist than I believed, but I'm not totally convinced because saying anything other than what he said would have been bad press for him.[Beer]

We found this one on Fort Carson in a little shop next to the uniform shop. If you can't get on base, try searching for Magnets America on line.[Beer]

I've mostly given up trying to reason with people like that, so I just come back with an argument they may understand. "Shut up you fucking fascist."
Their pea-brains only recognize that fascist means "something bad and evil" and it breaks their thought process trying to figure out how something liberal can be bad long enough for me to walk away.

and spoons make people fat.
Only the big, shovel-like "assault spoons".
And don't be hatin' on Parker! It's only a town. There's a LOT of members here that live in Parker, and thousands more Patriotic Americans. We also have a fair share of idiot Liberal Yuppies, because this is becoming a "bedroom community" where the jerks come to live because they don't want to live where they work, in the midst of all the other Liberal Obama supporters that are a little too scary for them, and are always chasing them around with their hands out wanting "their share".
I like that magnet too, I think I needs me one, and some for my brothers.
Oh, BTW, that same lunatic (or any other) could have caused horrific loss of life and brutal injuries with a cheapo machete from Harbor Freight, sharpened with a file. You wade into a crowd of frightened people trying to exit all at once and start swinging a sharp machete, you're gonna fuck up a LOT of people very quickly. And it won't jam, and you don't have to reload it. But mass murderers only use GUNS, we all know that.....because guns are EVIL. Guns will chase you down on their little legs and pull their own triggers.
If there small people who are against such weapons, I'm going to ask them if they want to wrestle.

Maybe if conservatives infringed on the 1st Amendment like the marxist libs do to the 2nd Amendment a light would click on.

Is it sarcasm if it's true? I had that exact conversation with the management where I used to work after a fellow employee complained about a pro-gun sticker on my car. I was asked to remove the sticker. When I asked about my custom license plate I was told maybe I shouldn't drive my car to work. After further discussion management talked to the offended party and they decided I could park my car in their parking lot.
What made it even more stupid was I had to explain the meaning of both the sticker and the plate.
