Just picked up a nice Postal Meter M1 carbine.
Guy said he bought it from the DCM NRA program in 64'

Any good websites to understand some of the markings. to establish a value?

Sounds like you don't want to shoot it just sell it. But then I may be wrong. ;)

Id like to shoot and keep it. But I would love some input on the value of such a rifle. Just curious.

Very cool! You shoot it a few times, that'll get rid of that silly notion of selling it. M1 Carbines are bitchin'!

Can you post up some sharper photos, right-side up? Especially of the barrel band, barrel markings and that cartouche on the left side. I can't say that I've ever seen an M1 carbine stamped like that, but that don't mean nothin'. Garands were stamped like that, and Springfield Armory made Garands (hench the "SA"), but I don't think they made Carbines. So that cartouche "may" be a fake....you can buy repros of the stamps they used on eBay.

Sure. Barrel band and rear sight are stamped "sa".
Maybe springfield made the re arsenaled stocks and parts for the NRA DCM programs.

Nice! That's one of the next things on my list, a nice M1 carbine. I have almost everything else back to 1898 (wish I'd kept my excellent condition 1903A4) but no carbine.

Well I think he has this one for sale already he must have gotten a sweet deal on it for it to be up for sale already
