So instead of buying a bullet mold i dumped some hot glue in 2) .357 primed only cases, then loaded in the speed 6

Let cool and road tested this evening. One worked the other nada.

bbl didn't look any worse for wear and cleaned up the soot from primer with quick patch. I want the bbl to sit until tomorrow to see what if any issues there will be regarding glue.

When fired it sounds like a cap gun. I would consider turning down some plastic stock for a different approach, however hot glue sticks are cheap. My next option is to run a few wax plugged shells for s&g.
IF i did not have suppressors and a good bullet trap (old X-Ring) this would be a fun way to practice. Then again a bb or pellet gun can keep your training up to date. YMMV
Thanks to jreifsch who participated. We were able to reuse the glue plug 1 more time. Then it wasn't worth getting MY hands dirty looking for it:)

Looks like your results were similar to mine trying to mold in the case. Last I saw the status on the bullet molds I ordered they had (for as yet unexplained reasons) made their way to the east coast.
In the meanwhile I've been thinking about it and thought I'd try making a couple today using a slightly different approach; mold the bullet in an unsized, de-capped used case and fill it all the way w/ glue. Then push it out after it cools using the primer hole and trim the ends square with a razor, then push it into a resized primed case. Should be a tighter fit and hopefully will come out solid w/o big bubbles or the side missing like my previous attempt.
The ones I tried did seem quiet enough and the local LEO did not stop by to inquire. Just in case I have the Ramset laying out on the work bench "really Officer just fastening this shelf down..."

Tried that yesterday using a few CCI AL cases, not happening, unless you use a better lube than i had, 3-1 oil.
One thing i did not do was lube the inside of the case prior to dropping some glue in there. I'm going to use some rcbs lube and see what happens.
FWIW: Holding a brass case and inserting hot glue in it gets a tad warm on the fingers.
Having never done this, but been thinking about if for several decades (procrastinator extraordinaire). Try this: Melt the wax and pour into a heated pan (to keep it from immediately cooling) until it's, I don't know, maybe about 1/3-1/2" thick. De-prime your cases. Press deprimed cases into the wax like a cookie cutter (the flash hole will allow air to escape so the wax does not extrude after removal). Now prime the cases. Should give you a better formed projectile.

You can get sheet wax, so you just press & twist the case in to it. I might go with jreifsch's suggestion and try wooden dowels. Be a special winged crowd control load.

I tried all the things we discussed and then some but they end up glued in the case. Won't go through the whole list but suffice to say I believe it will take a mold to get one with just a friction fit. Let's skip the saga of my globe-trotting bullet molds and get to the point - I tried to make a mold. The first one was from modeling clay... fast forward to Bondo! baked in my dehydrator. The funnel was a small wire nut glued to the bullet.
The black one is one of the first two, one was lost. It penetrated one side of a cardboard box and lodged in a second box I had inside from about 8-10 feet. These are molded on 158gr RNFP and they are averaging about 14gr depending on how many bubbles are in them. I've about got that worked out though.

Made a few pressed all the way down into the case and had the wife shoot them in the shop while I sat on the back steps. A truck came by about then so I didn't hear them at all. Made a couple more the same way and a couple just pressed in like a normal load. Tomorrow I'll chrony them and set up my sound level meter to see if there is any difference.

Lot of effort for something minor but it became a white whale. Hot glue bullets dammit! [Tooth]
But since they sound like "a cap gun" you can hang a piece of shag carpet in the basement and open up you own personal range.
Unless you have REAL picky neighbors.....

Could not get the chrony to work in the shop, maybe the fluorescents.[Dunno]
The sound level meter showed 95db @ 18" from the pistol.

set he mold vertically on your tumbler/vibrator to shake the bubbles out...

The glue gels up to quick to make this a viable option, on all the bullets.

For those following this mad scientist goof off - Bondo does not hold up to repeated castings. The mold release softens the Bondo and bits start to flake off after just a few castings. The latest mold is painted with several coats of Superglue to harden and smooth the surface. Once it dried it was polished with 1000 grit sandpaper to remove dog hair and other extra goodies. The best mold release so far is a thin coat of Vaseline, produces the fewest bubbles also.
There is no point to this experiment beyond the realization I have too much unsupervised free time. The wife informs more productive endeavors beckon. [Coffee]

Fast setting plaster of paris makes good molds usually. Brother use to make all kinds of model car parts this way years ago.

Part of the challenge was use what I had at hand.
