And more importantly, is it worth anything?

Looks to be some sort of part that goes on an AR-15 platform- just in front of the slip ring (gas tube insert just above there?), although I can't be sure... maybe it's a tactical part for a combat snow cone maker? [LOL]

[ROFL1] You might be right! It's a rail system for a Special Operations Forward Deployed Cappuccino machine... ya know, when you need to mount a good grip, bipod and laser sight!
As far as it's worth- put it on GunBroker for $200, see if anyone bites, after a week nothing lower the price by $25 increments.

I was originally thinking Agassi block with integrated rails, but it clearly goes up against the slip ring and I don't see how even an integrated gas tube would be long enough.

I'm interested in finding out what it is too.

Yeah, there's no tube inside the thingeemajiggy, and no way for gas to get through it.

The "nipple" on the end looks like a gas tube, but I don't think it is. Just a pin or something like that.

Without actually finger fucking it I can't be sure but it looks like it might be sized to fit over the gas tube on an AK.

I don't think it is. It's pretty solid. But hell, I'm never seen any airsoft stuff so it might be.

Maybe, but it looks more M4 style. The guy that gave it to me seemed to think it came off a GAU-5. But I've never seen anything like that on a GAU-5 before. Maybe some of you old... I mean, more experienced guys would know. GAU-5 is a little before my time.

Mount for a flux capacitor.

A couple of our pilots were giving an Admiral a demo ride a few months back...he asked what one item in the cockpit was and the copilot couldn't remember what it was called right off the top of his head...so he told the guy it was a flux capacitor. The Admiral just took it at face value. The copilot told me about this after they came back...I wonder if the Admiral ever figured out what a snowjob it was![ROFL1]

Yeah. It really looks M4-ish. But what exactly it is, I have no freaking clue.

it's either for a glock or an Ak-47 assault rifle. I just checked with the media and they confirmed

Looks like it clamps to either a barel or a gas tube...

Thanks for kicking in the OCD by the way, now I have to know what the hell that thing is.

Dude, I wish I knew, too. It's been sitting on my kitchen counter for the last week and I can't figure it out.

Maybe this will help: I was thinking maybe it attaches to the bottom of the barrel, as opposed to the top and the thing sticking out that looks like a gas tube (but isn't) rests in between the teeth of the barrel nut. There's a small, circular mark in the paint on the rail that is the same size as the locking mechanism for a KAC vertical grip.

Ya, that looks like a rail adapter system for the top half of an AK handguard. It could possibly be for a Galil too. Weird it doesn't have a manufacturer name or mark on it anywhere.

while at a 'prototype' communications facility in Kuwait we actually mounted some "chasing lights" in the flux capacitor Manner in an empty cabinet...
