OK, so today i had my Face=to=face meeting with the ATF Field Agent. Filled me in on a lot of stuff I didn't know and went over rules and regulations, he even saved me $200!! I applied for both my Manufacturing license and dealers license, he said I didn't need both and the manufacture's license Along w/ my SOT)would cover my needs.

All went great and he said I should have my license in two weeks! I will have my manufactures license, my class III (NFA) and dealers license.

I figure, I will manufacture; silencers, SBS, SBR, Machine Guns and deal in NFA Firearms!! Yes I said Machine Guns [M2]

Still needs a letter from the sheriff for each...SOT is not a free for all for buying weapons, especially post-86 ones.

Negative, with the manufactures license I can; make my own Full Auto's and buy transfer Tax free between manufacture's. What I can't do is transfer to a class III dealer with out the LEO letter..... Nor transfer to individuals "New Manufactured" machine guns (full auto)..... I can however buy, sell pre-ban to individuals...

And sell all new manufactured "machine guns" to LEO or Federal agencies and I believe export. Not 100% on export as i said i didn't want to deal with it "right now"...

I will build my own before I buy from another manufacture as the whole point is to build my brand...

And actually yes it is: "a free for all to buy and sell post band weapons." The whole point in getting the license- To make money! (But like stated above only to LEO or Fed Agencies)

Actually I can manufacture my own "brand" full auto.....

I can only transfer to LEO, another manufacture, Class III dealer with letter or Fed Agency.

Yea, I am gonna look into that. The field agent said I can transfer my full auto's and buy full auto's from the manufacture but I am not sure about buying from the class III. Unless these are from the manufacture??

The ad did say SOT w/ letter but that could be because their use to dealing with a Class III w/ sot and not a Manufacture?? Not sure?

I'm gonna call and find out or send a message and find out. Only thing is not sure what I would do w/ it? Reverse engineer? Maybe find an agency to buy more? O and shoot it!

You'll actually be applying for a Class 2 SOT (NFA manufacturer). Class 3 is just a SOT dealer.

Yes correct! Was trying to explain an easy way but saying it the way you did seams like an easier explanation....[Beer]

Actually I am not sure it is, now that I think about it. Nobody knows what a Class 2 can do, by the way you explained.... Or maybe they do.... Either way glad your there!!

Let's do it..... 1st couple of years will mostly be R&D, product testing and making sure I have a good quality product. We can work something out.....

That is my plan; to start w/ silencers (ATF said Silencer was the correct term) I said suppressor and he looked at me funny...

Anyway, silencers 1st then on to development of a full auto. Even though I might have to put one together or at least start R&D. I am trying to figure what would be more appealing to the end user; Auto Sear, Lightning Strike or Trigger? I asked the ATF guy and he said a lot of LEO departments like the Auto sear because they can change from weapon to weapon. Thoughts?

Two things.

1) If you don't know what the word "allocated" means, get ready to see it often on the wholesalers websites.

2) Be ready to receive a bill for $2000.00+ for ITAR with your class 7.

Nice! I am setting up a NFA trust here soon and will be looking for a couple silencers. Be sure to let us know when you have some ready for sale. Also as far as R&D goes, I'll come down there and shoot the crap out of anything you build.[Beer]

Do you have to get the type 07 before filing with te state dept? That $2500/yr is awfully steep in you ask me, just to get on a list! Or do you have to pay it before they will issue the 07?

Also, who did you find gen liability coverage from? I looked a bit, an found everyone was crazy expensive, or wanted nothing to do with an SOT/07 manufacturer.

There is an online trust thing I have read does the job just fine. Or do an LLC through the state.

I was told by the guy at the ATF you can apply for a waiver for the $2500 yr thing. Said he heard of it but not sure, as I have no intentions of exporting right now. We shall see!

As for insurance I haven't signed with anyone yet. I am not that far along yet, I wanted to make sure i had the application process done before I spent money.

Have you found anybody with decent quotes?

What are you going to put them on?

I have an engineer that is going to start designing some for me. I was gonna do a .45 for the Glock but the booster design (to get it to function correctly) is a pain in the A$$.... I am still considering it but interested in what others might want as well....
