Came home from work tonight and the wife came out to meet me. She told me "Come look, NOW!!!
She had killed 2 rattlesnakes 8 feet from the front door. We thought it was quite strange that 2 prairie rattlers side by side, so we googled it and found out they were probably mating
She killed both snakes and still had ribs and corn on the cob for supper!
Do I have a winner or what!!!!!!!!!!!
Holey crap man, that's scary. Snakes and sharks scare the crap out of me.

Kinda feel bad for the snakes...killed in the act. [ROFL1] But at least they died happy.
Hell, yeah. I'd say you've got a keeper there!

I heard if you skin them and wrap the skin around a belt it'll stick on its own and give you a way cooler belt.

I would have really been even more impressed if she would have had a snake, ribs and corn dinner prepared for you.

And a new hat band or two.

That's exactly what I was going to say.
Yes, nothing better than rattler appetizers.
Better have her Google preparing rattler for the barB.

Some of these sound kind of tasty

Skin'em.
Soak the hides in boric acid for a couple of days.
scrape off the excess meat and scales.
Tack up to dry.
Rub in glycerin to soften and preserve.
Cut meat into chunks.
Roll in milk then corn meal.
Fry.
Enjoy.

I usually smoke a large one over applewood or cherrywood.,, Mmmm good.
Didn't see the pic the first time around. Did the rattles have buttons on the end? Looks like the top (smaller) guy was older.
