Sourced from a different forum.

The ATF told attendees at the NSSF Import/Export conference that they had hired 12 temporary research assistants and a supervisor to review Form 4 and Form 1 applications for mistakes before the examiner gets them.

I'm seeing other peoples items taking 5 months now instead of 6 months.

I read that they were adding some temps to help out a few months ago. Word was by the beginning of summer the wait times should be less. I have heard some people say its better. Others say its the same. I know form 3's are not any better. Like digging a hole in water I recon. Won't complain if it happens tho.

There's some improvement, though mostly they just stopped the endless climb (NFA tracker (http://nfatracker.com/)):

Most recent F4 I got back was mailed in 3/1, received by me 8/24, Sara Jones.

That is to within a week the total door-to-door time for my most recent transfer before that one, which was signed off on by Lamberger, and was mailed 7/5, received 1/4.

Short... I guess really short times for dealer to dealer transfer times

I hope the same goes for FORM 1's and FORM 4's [Pepsi]

That's good news. I had a check cashed on a form 4. 3/28, I'll call and check.

Thanks! If I remember correctly, I sent the paperwork on 2/13, and received the Error Letter on 8/3. Re-submitted on 8/8, and stamp arrived yesterday. It woulda been under the six month mark, if not for my screw up. 7 months, including the error letter and resubmission. Can't really complain...

I got one back on Tuesday (9/11/12) that was mailed out 3/19/12, for a suppressor to a customer's trust. That's one week less than six months door to door, and within a day of the length of time my two next most recent F1/F4 timeframes have been.

The ATF examiners DO in fact have help now, but we aren't seeing it in quicker turnarounds just yet.
