Maj Dave Gray was killed in Asskrackistan yesterday by a suicide bomber. He was a good man and will be missed.
He was stationed here at Ft. Carson. RIP, brother.

I have to be careful here, because of OPSEC. I relayed the events of that attack to my Chain of command as they happened, in real time. Other forum members here and I personally know some victims of that attack. I consider a few of them friends. It was NOT a happy day here. Prayers for the families. Also pray for my unit medic. He is having a harder time with this than some.
EDIT. If you guys want to send any cards or anything to some of the victims, I can hand deliver them directly for you. Send me a PM if you want the mailing address to send the wounded anything.

Fading light, dims the sight,
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright.
From afar, drawing nigh, falls the night.
Thanks and praise, for our days,
'Neath the sun, 'neath the stars, neath the sky;
As we go, this we know, God is nigh.
May he rest in peace[Salute]

RIP Brother and prayers to the family. What a waste!
I'm glad to have been associated with those men. They gave good and honorable service and were never above performing a basic Soldier's task: Infantryman.
RIP Brother! Sending your family prayers!
Rest in Peace, God Bless.

I don't normally read the Post but my wife does. She showed me this article. Outstanding piece of work in my opinion covering services for Maj Gray (written by Jakob Rodgers of the Gazette). Well worth the read. It makes me wish I'd known him.
Read it HERE (http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_21345644/hundreds-mourn-fallen-air-force-officer-killed-afghanistan).

IMHO anyone willing to serve and put his or her ass on the line for the rest of us is a great man/woman.
Thank you to all who serve. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends.
