View Full Version : Value of a Gold Plated M92 Krinkov???
I have a friend wanting to put this in partial trade for one of my rifles but cannot find any comparable guns to see what its worth! It is a gold plated m92 krinkov with gold mag, rosewood foregrips and underfolder stock. It looks just like the one in Lord of War. The bolt and lots of internals are nickel plated. Looks sweet and shoots great but no clue of the value... Help me price this thing, pm or write in the thread.
Thanks!!

Something like that is hard to put a value on. I'd say it's worth whatever you can get for it. The best way to get top dollar for it would probably be taking it to auction.

While it may have a theoretical value higher than a standard m92 the problem is finding someone who would buy it as it would have a much smaller demand
This one?

I'd search on GB for completed auctions. There's been a guy gold plating stuff. I saw a PSL that looked great. It is a wall hanger but a cool one if you have the $'s. His was a very heavy plating and he'd obviously spent a lot of time on a polishing machine.
I had visions of a Black Krome AK once but my inadequate polishing machine showed me the error of my ways. AK's are just not machined for a fine finish. They have all sorts of machining marks and other roughness. The proper finish for a plain old AK is parkerizing or paint.
Just look at the details and post lots of pictures.

Bottom line is no matter how flashy it is, it's an AK. IF you had to dump it quickly what would you take for it in an emergency? That's were i would base my price off of.
Gunner it is that same gun, my buddy traded a 50ae Desert eagle for it. He is looking at partially trading it towards my AR50 which would be nice as I feel it would be easier to get rid of it than the AR. However I need a decent feeler as far as value. He is wanting $1600. I am thinking it is worth more in the $1200 range? Anything will help. I couldn't find any GB completed listings with one of these. Also please clarify that it is legal to own with the stock pinned so that it is stationary??

Only if it is in the closed position. $1600 is way to high for what is basically a wall hanger. $1200 is being kind, bottom line, outside of the gold plating it's still an AK pistol.
If you think this AK would move faster than your AR, think again.

sorry didn't see the last part, only if it's closed AND the pin can't be readily taken out. usually people weld the pin in
Okay Ill have to check and see if the pin is welded or not. And you don't think this would be easier to sell than an armalite ar50 that costs almost 3k??

Me, no way. Either one is going to require that special buyer who
"Has to Have It"
Your offering him $1200 for it is too kind on your part. What i am going on is, investment in the AR-50 then selling it vs. $1200 for a wall hanger AK that if lucky (IMO) may put $7-800 in your pocket, If lucky.
Surf the web for AK pistols, because finish aside that is what you will be trying to sell.
AGAIN This is just my opinion and we know all about those :)
I would probably offer $500 then pay to duracoat, bearcoat, anything but that plated crap.
