OK, so I have a client who is refusing to pay me, they owe me a ton of $$ right now. They are stalling ,hoping I will look the other way and lower what is owed. Not gonna happen!

So anyway with the boy going back to school, rent, bills etc. It has taxed me considerably... Wa Wa Wa!

Anyway I am not one to cry or reach out but it got me thinking; If anyone on here needs there CCW/CHP I will work it out with you at a discount....

You pay range fee's (or we go to National Forest), have a box of 50 rounds and 3-4 hours of your time...

If interested PM me...

got a contract?????????
cuz without one, you're in trouble.

Get a lawyer's "scare" letter. Yeah, it will cost you about 2 hours, but it tends to help.

oh, and never do business with real estate developers. (even lawyers told me this)

O I am good on that front, there not going any were or getting out of it. I have a tight contract and doc's that ties them up tight. Not the 1st time in 16years someone tried getting out of paying.

They just think they have space to beat me up and they don't realize it cost them more everyday I don't get paid.

Scare letters been sent, intent to lien sent to Bank, Title company and owner, in 6 more days it get's filed. 30-60 days i might get paid, until then I beg! The pleasures of being in business for yourself!

10mm, I feel your pain as I have been there myself. What these dead beats forget, or don't care, its the small business man's family that shares the pain.

There should be some sort of double or treble damages for bad faith in instances like this.

Yes Ridge, let's call Uncle Vido! His methods are proven.

I feel your pain. The new thing for me is they say they will not send a payment until after the lien waiver is received. Not

That's what Obama said to America. That if you have a small business, you built it with the help of the government.

So everyone here with a small business needs to thank everyone else for allowing them to make a living? I never thought about it that way. I understand appreciating your customers but I guess I’m still missing something. J

Nope, thats not what he was saying at all. Since you didn't build that business you need to willingly give up the profits of that business to government in the amount that they dictate..... Duh!!! [ROFL1]

In todays litigious society plus cell phones, it's hard to make an honest living.
People think screwing someone out of money is fun & games till the door bell rings. Then it's tears and urinating in their pants. Hypothetically, that is.

OP.....small claims court

Isn't worth the time.

I had to take a previous employer to court for back wages, and since he's a pro-con man, I didn't see a damn dime of the over $2500 he owed me.

PM me a price.

Also I try like hell to get 50% down on jobs. Doesn't always happen that way. Tom Marino says that anyone wanting 50% down must be fly by night. I say I don't want to finance your fucking project, and 50% usually covers all materials if someone does try to screw you. I had to file a lien once and got paid right away. What a pain in the ass that was. Let me correct myself....my wife filed the papers. I'd have probably let it go...or broke some legs.

Also I know a GC that was once chased around a jobsite by Tom with cameras asking why he's shady bla bla. This ex felon contractor gave Tom small pile of cash and Tom now recommends this same GC

Little hard on a $300k job... Bank financed, so I will get paid just a process!

Hmm it sounds like a large construction problem. If there is a loan/bank, there is a document called a disburser's statement that you can send to the bank or owner and they have to disburse checks jointly.

at a minimum file the mechanics lien even if you never foreclose on it, though for the amounts you are mentioning it would be worth it.
