Doing some gym work. Turned on Fox News. He is calling for tracking of AR and AK ammo purchases. Clueless man, the closest firearm he most likely ever touched was most likely his little wanky. Either way even the supposed right is on the anti gun kick.

Yeah after Aurora he made some stupid comment about being able to walk into a 7-11 and buy a bazooka and that was the last time I watched Bill.
Toolbox.

Yeahhhhh, I stopped watching Bill O'Reilly a couple years ago when I realized he was an emotional, egotistical, pompous fool.
He's from Long Island. Did you expect anyone in the NYC metro area to support private ownership of "ass halt rifles?"
Maybe Jim could explain the mindset better than I can, but I will try.
Most people currently living in the east coast megalopolis don't believe citizens have any legitimate need for or reason to own "military style" weapons or ammunition. That is why they pay high taxes for large police departments that will keep them safe from mentally ill, right wing, fringe whack job lunatics in Colorado.
For those who have lived there, can I get an Amen?
O'Reilly likes to hear himself talk. That doesn't mean I have to listen.
Be safe.
I completely lost all respect for that jackwagon after watching him spew false statement after false statement during the Aurora coverage, and then wouldn't even fact check himself. Pompous asshat.

coming from jersey i saw no need for anyone to own anything larger then a pistol
then i moved out to the rural plains and i have a bunch of asssssault rifles (before the boating accident) all my jersey friends think im a psycho..... when you live back east big guns are scarey you have no opportunity to ever see them in the hands of anyone other then LEO so you assume that there the only people qualified to have them

We moved over a 1/4 of a century ago because they had no clue. Most large metropolitan areas believe and feel it is the .gov's responsibility to take care of them. This is the average union, white & blue collar worker. Let's not even venture in to how the entitlement brain work's.
Funny thing is the process to obtain a target and or carry permit, outside of madhatten was moderately easy.
Even easier was the availability of "street guns" 1-2 phone calls and your order would be filled by next "business" day.

I sent a pretty long email to OReilly after his stupid rant following Aurora, informing him that the police reported the shooter had 6000 rounds, not 60,000 rounds as OReilly stated. Then his stupid comments about buying bazookas and artillery without anybody knowing about it. He tried to argue with Rep. Jason Chaffetz of Utah (unsuccessfully) and looked like an idiot in the process. I told him he needed to raise his game significantly if responsible gun owners were going to continue to watch his show. Never received any note back, and judging by his comments tonite about "anybody can convert a semiautomatic weapon into a machine gun" I'm done with him. In his own words, he is a pinhead.

Was competent compared to Billy boy..
Things are starting to come to a head. We will see the "conservatives" choose their true side.
I stopped watching/listening to Bill O'Reily, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck before I even started. I understand the allure of listening to someone who can sometimes express a point of view more eloquently than you can, but I never bought into those guy's BS. I don't appreciate stuff that is dumbed down for the masses, even if it is something that I mostly agree with.
Bill is an ass. Why would anyone willingly subject themselves to his constant interruptions? His latest comments about "heavy weapons" that are "easily converted" into "machine guns" reflect a great ignorance that undermines his conservative credentials and overall credibility. Time to hire a knowledgeable advisor.
Seems to me that making weapons full auto is easily achievable by people who have the desire to do so. I don't think that statement is far off, but I do think it was delivered by a person in ignorance.

I just zipped off a lengthly letter to him when I saw that crap tonight.
"heavy duty weapons"
WTF
Gun show loophole for machine guns? Really?
Easily converted by anyone?
O'Reilly has been carrying the water for Obama for the last 3 years, I don't watch his program anymore.

"Easily converted" is a question of time, skill, and resources. A top fuel dragster can be made to "easily run under 5 seconds" in the quarter mile, given the right budget, resources, and skills. It can also turn the engine into expensive shrapnel without moving off the starting line if something is not right. 99% of firearms owners have neither the resources, skill, nor desire to convert their guns to fire in a fully automatic manner. O'Reilly should probably just STFU about subjects that he is ignorant on, or better still, educate himself before offering an opinion.
I know that an AR-15 can be converted to full auto with about $5 worth of metal and a few minutes with a dremel. I don't know how easy other guns are though.

Amen! I was stationed in NY (Upstate, not the city) for 3 years. I was allowed to have a rifle pretty easy but when I transferred my Glock up there I found that I had to have a pistol permit just to touch it! When I went to the local SO they said they were "less inclined" to do all that work for someone there on temporary status. WTF? So glad to be back here!

I actually do like Glenn Beck.. but youre still probably right about even him dumbing his stuff down for the masses..
And an SKS can be made full auto for a penny(given the correct skills). My point is that it is not and has not been an issue. According to the DOJ, of the firearms used in crimes for which a trace was requested, less than .1 percent were fully automatic/machine guns. None of this affects the fact that O'Rielly is a douche.
