A security guard at the Family Research Council's headquarters in Washington, D.C. is being hailed as a hero after he stopped a gunman posing as an intern, taking a bullet in the arm before wrestling the suspect to the ground.
The gunman entered the lobby of the organization's Chinatown headquarters around 10:45 and expressed disagreement with the conservative group's policy positions, Fox News has learned. When the guard, who was not identified, asked him where he was going, he opened fire, according to police.
“The security guard here is a hero, as far as I’m concerned,” D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said. ”He did his job. The person never made it past the front.”

The guard, who was not identified, was shot in the arm and was conscious after the shooting and was in stable condition. The gunman, who also was not identified, was being questioned by the FBI, sources said. Sources said he is in his twenties.
The suspect "made statements regarding their policies, and then opened fire with a gun striking a security guard," a source told Fox News. WJLA-TV7 reported (http://www.wjla.com/articles/2012/08/chinatown-shooting-leaves-two-wounded-78851.html)http://global.fncstatic.com/static/v/all/img/external-link.png the suspect was also shot. Sources also said the gunman may have been carrying a bag from Chick-fil-A, the embattled fast-food restaurant whose president came under fire from gay activists after he said he did not agree with same-sex marriage.
Sources told Fox New that after guard took away his gun, the suspect said, "Don't shoot me, it was not about you, it was what this place stands for."
Authorities were treating the attack as a case of domestic terrorism, although James McJunkin, the head of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, said authorities do not yet know the gunman's motive.
“We don’t know enough about him or his circumstances to determine what his connection is to this group [the research council] or his mental state, or what he was doing or thinking of doing,” McJunkin said. “So we’re going to try to sort this all out, pull the evidence together, do all the interviews we can.”
The FRC is a conservative nonprofit that seeks to advance "faith, family and freedom in public policy and public opinion," according to its website. The group weighs in on policy, and has often sent representatives to Congress to weigh in on the social effects of policy matters.
“The police are investigating this incident," Family Research Council President Tony Perkins said. "Our first concern is with our colleague who was shot today. Our concern is for him and his family.”

I'll be surprised if we hear about an "assault weapon", Glock, hi-cap clip or any other words like that, used in the reporting of this story from the msm!

$10 says the media and authorities refuse to call this terrorism.

...opened fire with a gun...

The above article proves it won't happen. Every illegal shooting on the news lately has been all about the model of weapon...except this one. In this case it was just a gun.

Really, I prefer they stay away from telling us what type of gun because it doesn't matter...so good job this time. We don't need them going after certain makes of guns.

But what makes them rag on and on about gun make these other times and not this time? Is it because this time it was a left-wing nut? [Dunno]

I think that part of it is the target: since the target was a 'conservative non-profit (basically a Christian org)', they won't classify this as they would if the target were something which they agree with.

Pic of shooter above^^^

I'm guessing after a quick perusal of this website that this organization is against the homosexual lifestyle. OMG! Could this be linked to the gay wedding cake? Isn't that special...

Hey? Is that the guy who was arrested in CS for OC'in in the park? He was on the rainbow side..... just saying.

Kidding aside, the article mentions that the shooter was also shot! Was the guard armed... ?
Or was he Chuck Norris in disguise and shot the perp with his own weapon?

Yes. that's why you can expect them to flush this one down the memory hole as fast as they can.

A month from now there will still be the occasional story about the Sikh temple shooting and the Aurora theater shooting but this one won't ever be mentioned again.

Furthermore, if this were "conservative-on-liberal" violence, its ALL we'd hear about for the next 3 months ... CONSTANTLY (and the media would link a conservative shooter to Republicans, the Tea Party and the R&R ticket).

The media is an organ of the Democrat party (I'll let you figure out which organ)

Too bad he did not have a nice tat across his chest of his favorite president.[Flower] That would have been a Kodak moment. ;)
