I tried searching through the threads, but couldn't find anything about it.

If something is there, I'm sorry. I don't know what you guys call the Pine Junction shooting area.

Does anyone know if its open? My brother and I need to sight in the AR's he built and need a little bit of room. We know Pine Junction isn't all that long, but its the only place we know about within a reasonable distance from us (Aurora) that is free.

Thanks.

Only the smaller range, first one on the right, is open. The other two have been changed to camping sites, No Shooting signs posted on the entries. Last visit up there ended with a visit from the cops because of a teenager who shot himself. Sherrifs explained that too many people were shooting up the trees and trashing the place. [Bang][Mad][Bang] Would not visit on the weekend! With the closure of two ranges, the smaller one was way over packed with idiots who will muzzle you all day.

We go further up the road to Deckers and go by Cheeseman Lake, few parking spots on the road then hike in 1/4 mi and it is always quiet. Mostly clean, more gauge shells than brass and paper, but those little red hulls are free targets for me then pack them out.
