Anyone know where I can go to get a hood painted for a decent price? I got a a new hood and the place that put it on said prep is 300 alone plus 500 for paint. 800 to just paint the hood seems high. Any ideas would really help! Thanx in advance.

Maaco will do a whole car for $300 with their shit paint job. A decent job on a hood can't be that much.

My brother has a shop in Black forrest, just works by himself. I'll pm his # to ya. It can cost a lot of money if you have to blend the paint onto the fenders to get a perfect match. Then take off fender flairs, emblems, headlights and antena. If it doesn't have to be perfect match then you can just paint the hood.

I thought about just pairing myself but wouldn't be to good of a blend. Prepping myself is a good idea!

Maaco charges $225 to paint a hood regardless of if you prep yourself or not. Their reasoning is that even if you prep they still need to go over it again. Either way it sounds like $225 is their base price on a hood repaint so no sense doing more work than you need to if it doesn't save you any money.
