It was 11 o'clock this morning when they made the call, (A Thursday, no less) and I am in line behind 134 others for a CBI background check! Quoted a 3 hour wait time. What gives?

Guns are evil.

Gun sales up 20% from last year, and have been on the rise for some time.
Either owning a gun is something that most Americans are thinking they ought to do, the politically wary are buying them in anticipation/fear of an Obama 2nd term, or some combination of the two. I'm betting that last one.

Maybe it's just random. Last month on a Saturday there was only about a 20 minute wait for CBI.
Wow, I did not have to wait longer than an hour when I bought a gun from a shop when Tanner was going on. That is a bit long. I wonder if they only have one dude working Thursdays and he is on his 3 hour paid lunch break.
I think they like me.. I'm never waiting more than 15m. [Tooth]

Hmmm...Keep an eye out for black Yukons. The rear passenger door will usually open first...

I bought an LC9 last week and it took 20 minutes. It should take less than one minute in my opinion.
CBI fall down and go boom today.
Yet another reason to get rid of the CBI requirement and just do NICS.

I don't see why? This is only my 44th gun purchase this month... [Dunno]
Just kidding. I don't have a good enough job to afford that many guns!

Weird thing just happened.. A black Yukon just pulled up in front of my house and some nice looking guys in suits just rang the doorbell. I'll brb, gotta go see what they want.

It should take zero time, honest citizens pays and walks. No background check or nuttin'.
Criminals don't do background checks, why should upstanding citizens.

In Texas, if you have a CHL the background check requirements are waived.

There was a call for that here in Colorado but it didn't pass. Maybe next time...

I sold our first gun of the day before 9:00am and there were already 47 people in cue at that time.
Took me 8 min about 2 weeks ago [Tooth]
A few weeks back mine ran about an hour and a half.
The dealers tell the CBI folks to do that. They figure the customer will add more guns or other stuff to the pile while they're waiting.
At least that has worked several times with me.

Spent 3 and a half hours yesterday at sportmans waiting for mine[Mad]
Success! Every time honey badger wants a gun, I head him off and buy a dozen, demanding the dealer put each on its own 4473 and insta-check. Just to piss him off. You gotta get back at that nasty-ass honeybadger, otherwise he just doesn't give a Sheite.
On another note... everytime he buys a gun expect 9-11 guns to show up in the TP NIB in the following week.

Yep. It gives real meaning to Instant Check. Agreed upon price, meeting place AND cash.

Damn. I knew I should have gotten on that quicker. What is the turn around time?

State law requires you get it back within 90 days. Before they were taking the full 90 days, because they could. Now they're doing it out of necessity.
I have a coworker who bought two glocks and a HD shotty in the last 4 days
