View Full Version : Mosin Nagant information?
Any of you guys know of a good site to go to to learn about Mosin Nagants? I came across one in the family and I know NOTHING about these rifles other than they shoot 7.64x54, they are Russian, cheap, and there are a lot of them.

I resisted the urge to send you to lmgtfy.com [ROFL1]
For a very simple, older design, most Mosins will satisfy your need for battle rifle accuracy.
I love 'reading' all the marks you can find on an old rifle like that.

Have fun.
Yeah it was neat. Looks like I have a Tula m91/30 made in 1935.
I have the book that tells you everything about all the arsenel marks, its a great reference to decode some of the stuff

Nice...
Clean it up really good... then do it again! That old cos is work to clear away! Warm Diesel Fuel is effective!
Get some Milsurp 7.62x54R and run it a few times and then clean the snot out of it again! Rinse, lather, repeat. Oil it up... not too much, now!
Then, get some good hunting ammo... Winchester, Remington, Norma... and see what that puppy can really do.
Surprise... It Will Make Meat! Pretty darn cheaply, too!
Best advice? Shoot that thang!
