I've had a NFA lower sitting around for a while, and I've got a little cash burning a hole in my pocket. So I decided to put together a dedicated, lightweight AR22.
These are my thoughts so far:
Barrel (http://www.taccom3g.com/ULW_BARREL.html)
FF Handguard (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1151112320/hogue-overmolded-free-float-tube-handguard-ar-15-rubber)
Buttstock (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/982877/nordic-components-compact-retractable-buttstock-for-ar-15-dedicated-22-long-rifle-conversions-black?cm_vc=wishList)
Any thoughts, suggestions?

Already have a stainless CMMG.
If it's an NFA lower, why a long barrel? I've got a CMMG 6" (http://www.cmmginc.com/product_p/22db400.htm) barrel on mine, but if I had to do it over again I'd probably opt for a 4.5" barrel from "redtazdog (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=redtazdog)" to keep most everything subsonic. Oh, and then make it a two stamp gun :)

I like the b/stock and lower. BBl for that price you can score a 1:12 lw AR bbl used and the hogue is heavier than you think.
I utilized Ar bbls for a few 22 builds as it affords you the opportunity to later on turn it in to an AR.
If it is going to be a solid 22 only then yeah go for it.
One of my builds i did a ruger 77/22 1:16 bbl that is one accurate plinker.

Why 2 stamps? Unless you adding a suppressor, there is no need for a 2nd stamp.

The confusion is "NFA" which to me means "National Firearms Act (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Firearms_Act)", not "New Frontier Armory".
So, yes, using my defintion of "NFA" when I mentioned a two stamp gun I was talking about adding a supressor -- one stamp for the short barreled rifle (SBR) or machine gun (MG) (the "NFA lower" -- my defiinition) and one stamp for the supressor, which is why I pointed to redtazdog's 4.5" barrels.
So OP, ignore my suggestions, they're illegal for a "New Frontier Armory" lower, but not for a lower that's goverened by the "National Firearms Act".

sorry guys, NFA - New Frontier Armory. I appreciate the suggestions anyway. I'll keep the 4.5" in mind when I do build out an SBR.

At least now I know that you're in your right mind, I couldn't figure out why anyone would "just sit" on an NFA lower! :)

It's confusing even more when one AR lower mfg is offering their SBR lowers, iirc Spikes?
Once you read the info it then informs you the SBR is their serial #.

Yhea, it's Spikes, and that serial number series is coveted for converting into real SBRs. :)

You still need to engrave your info on the receiver thus negating the cool factor of having a sbr that is # SBR-1234
I have a factory DPMS BR lower receiver, it took forever to get it from dpms to Alan years ago. However well worth the wait. The only thing holding me back from a few form 1's now is the whole engraving info on the receiver crap.

Yhea, one of my two SBR serial numbered receivers has already been engraved. When I'm ready, it'll be ready. In the meantime, I get to have it in my possession and play with it (with long barrels, of course). So, no engraving and you wait for it almost a year, or it's engraved and you get to actually keep it at home during the wait -- the tradeoff.
You can always come up with a cool trust name. I thought a trust titled "In God We" would look pretty good :) But I went for something more mundane.

This is my dedicated .22LR. It's got a 6.5" 1:14 twist barrel and a Gemtech Outback II silencer. It has featured a variety of Ciener and non-Ciener bolts over the years, but is currently running the Spikes version.
It took a fair bit of tweaking to get it to run right. Combined with the tedium of loading the magazines, the novelty wore off pretty quickly. Now it is mostly used by women and small children when not otherwise gathering dust. Turns out .22LR isn't the caliber for me.
