Hey guys, I would appreciate some feedback on a Sig P238. I took my girlfriend to the gun store to try on some guns before we sign her up for her concealed carry class. She loves my 1911 (springer loaded) but does not like the thump of a 45.
Any current owners of the P238 or specifically the owner of the SAS model? What are your thoughts on it? Any issues?
Thanks for the input!

I have a 238HD (the heavy duty, it's a steel frame) and I love it. The gf has one too..she loves it.. carries it daily. Great little shooter, very accurate and easy to conceal.
Putting it back together is a pain w/ the extractor but easy after you've done it once...
Only diff between the sas and mine is melted edges and an alloy frame.. I played with several before settling on the HD for the feel of it. Same w/ the gf.. she liked the heft of the HD more than the alloy framed models.
Wife carries a p238 and loves it. It shoots well and doesn't have the snap like the LCR and like models. If you get one let me know I make custom grips for them.

Only a Girly man would admit to owning a p238. [LOL]
My wife loves the one I got for her, took her out shooting. Now she even asked about if she can carry it in her car without a permit to have a gun. (She is originally from Chicago....)

I have one, the hd model great 380 had to send it back to sig as soon as I bought and it and gun koted due to some light rust popping up but runs fine now and carry it regularly.
Love mine for summer carry and eagerly awaiting release of the P938 Equinox.
Everyone that shoots it loves it. Have a couple polymer pocket 380 guys reconsidering their choices after shooting mine.

Not nearly as snappy as the lcp IMHO The wife carries on at work and I think its one of the best if not thee best 380 on the market.
I have one as well , for the gf and myself. It's a awesome little gun.
It shows poor shooting form easy, which leads to better shooting !
I got mine for a good price from centerfire guns. Good peeps.

My wife has one loves it, light yet balanced to shoot. The only problem I have noticed with ours is after about 70 rounds it needs a bit of oil before it starts trying to stovepipe but 3 drips of oil and it is fine again, and this is the only one I have heard that has this issue, but it has less than 500 rnds down the tube and has maybe the tightest fit of a polymer gun I have seen yet.

Unless you get the HD .. then you get a real metal [Coffee]
That extra 3 oz or so that the HD adds is nice
(yes that's what she said)

The HD model wasn't out yet when I got my wife her p238.
I wonder if Sig. Will come out with an HD version of the p938 ?

I'm not sure.. but the extra heft certainly feels nice in the hand.
They didn't make many or they were very very popular because they became hard to find for a while.. iirc someone said they stopped after the 2nd production run..
Just got the wife the P938, after I need to get some grips fitted and a load figured up and it will be a sweet little CCW. Recoil isn't bad and for a gut gun in 9mm it's pretty accurate (Factory ammo).

I just had my boss order me one finally!! Gonna run me about $600 out the door? Or so I think!!
Nice! Let me know if you want some custom grips, oh and stay away from the S&B ammo mine hates it.

I must say I was very pleased the recoil of my 938. Have never shot a 238 so I can't compare. But I really am liking the 938

The 238 shoots like the 938 just a little lighter feeling in recoil. Both are solid shooters.
