Should I stay with the carry handle? Guess I'm trying to ask if there's benefits to one over the other? No plans to put an optic on this one but we all know how that goes[Coffee]

As long as there is no plan for optics.. keep it oem. Carry handle is the way!

My optic easily dismounts; I've seen no need for the handle as I have a sling. Seems like a much safer way to carry the gun, either on back or to rapidly bring into action. How do you USE the handle?

Kinda what I was thinking

I use it just for the rear sight.

Here's one of mine that I don't plan on running optics on. I went with a rear sight instead of the carry handle because I knew I wouldn't need the carry handle for anything and think it just looks better without it. Yours looks pretty good just like it is. I figure it is one of those "six of one, half a dozen of the other" things. Whatever floats your boat.

How do you like that DD sight? If I go with one I'll go with the DD or the Troy fixed.

I love the DD sight. I've tried most all of the fixed rear sights but keep coming back to this one. It's basically just an A1 sight. It has no elevation adjustment but that is fine by me. I rarely shoot out past 300 yards anyways.

opie011 - I'm insanely jealous of your BCM 14.5" lightweight upper. I waited as long as I thought I could for one to show up in stock but I finally folded and bought the gov't weight barrel.

If you don't plan on running an optic, I can't see any reason to remove the carry handle. I personally don't care for the elevation controls of the A2 sight and I also run the DD A1.5 (with optics).
