so i got to hear the loudest sound in the world . yep you guessed it a hammer fell on a full chamber at the gun show (york nebraska ) .
ok so the story goes like this
one vender traded with another vender rifle for a pistol . apparently the vender that originally had the xd got it across the table 6 shows ago and never checked the chamber ?? well he ran a zip tie around the barrel (not through it) and put it on his table .
the 2 venders made the swap and the 2nd vender (who got the pistol ) checked the mag and then checked the trigger pull and .... BANG!
no one was hurt but it did ruin any sales for a while because the room emptied in seconds .
the thing that pisses me off is the venders in question got no punishment and nobody was made to properly tie their guns .
the really funny part is the guy who licked off the round criticized me for the way i tie my firearms before the show .

There are such things as accidental discharges. Mechanical failure, and pretty damn rare but they happen.
If I were in charge of the show that guy would be banned. ND's are super, super serial you guys.
I hate to say it, but if you don't always check the chamber before handling a gun then you shouldn't even touch the damn gun! That is the first thing I do ALWAYS when I pick up a gun or get handed one... even if it's my AR, stored in it's case, and I know for sure it's empty, I still check the chamber.

I hate to say it, but if you don't always check the chamber before handling a gun then you shouldn't even touch the damn gun! That is the first thing I do ALWAYS when I pick up a gun or get handed one... even if it's my AR, stored in it's case, and I know for sure it's empty, I still check the chamber.

No to nit-pick but that still falls into ND in my book. It means that the weapon was not being properly maintained.
Someone needs to bring in a NRA poster of the Basic Firearms Safety rules.....

I had an ND several years ago. Put a round through the floor and into a wall stud in the room below. Thankfully I was the only one home at the time.

Ive never had one go bang when it shouldnt. I did have my uncle hand me his loaded pistol yesterday and it was just awkward even trying to take it out of his hands. he wanted to see mine, and I cleared and locked it. as I do every time I had somebody a gun.

Nine out of ten gunshow "dealers" are full fledged, card carrying idiots. Probably quite a few of them are that way because of generations of inbreeding.

It happened to me a few years back at Tanner!! Some Fu%*ing Asshole at "Gunner Security" AKA "Dumber Security" Yes I'm naming the company. Fu*&ing ASSHOLE said he was at the range that morning, and Forgot to clear his fire arm. So he thought,?? That the chamber was unloaded, so he dropped the mag and pointed it into some of his shit under the table and pulled the FNG trigger.
I was 2 isles away from that dick wad and directly across from the Shit bag!! Security, Undercover cops, etc. came out of the wood work!!!
They made an anouncement that he was banned from the show..... A couple of years later, the same Asshole was back.
I hope he is a member of CO-AR15 and reading this right now!!!

I don't understand how you can negligently discharge a firearm in a crowded room and not get charged with something..
I had a table in Loveland a couple years back when the guy who does custom leather holsters shot himself.
