Has anybody done a change of address with El Paso lately?
I moved about 8 months ago and just didn't cross my mind to do this with my (and wife's) CCW. I guess I had other more important things on my mind on that time like finding where I put the damm TV remote.
Anyway, I looked online and the form has a notary public line, ugh and was hoping someone would say, "na...not needed." I doubt it but it kinda sucks to have to go do that just to change my address.

Likewise-
per the website:

Q: What if I move?

A: A permit holder must notify the issuing Sheriff's Office within thirty (30) days of moving. Failure to do so is considered a Class 1 Petty Offense. Please download and complete the Lost permit/Change of Address form listed above and mail it to The El Paso County Sheriff's Office, ATTN: CHP, 101 W. Costilla Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. A new permit will then be mailed to you. It is your responsibility to destroy your old permit once you receive a new one. Reminder, if you move out of the state of Colorado, you must turn in your permit to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office along with your change of address form as the permit will be invalid.

On the form it has length of time at current address. So now I'm in a bind.
Thoughts and or experience from others with the change of address here in El Paso? I'm assuming that the Petty Offense is to put some weight behind the measure and to slap your wrist if your info is bad if you ever have to present it. But....

Thanks for any input

I'll leave this up here in case someone else needs it but the answer is: they hunt you down with a spear if you go past 30 days by a second [UZI]
Actually, no big deal (per what they said on the phone) and no it does not need to be notarized. You can do it in person and they will do it right there or you can fax it in.

+1 Kind of..

When I moved my permit had 3 months left on it.. called them and asked if I should renew/change of address same time..they said nah.. wait till a few days before it expires and come in to change it all..

That was Arapahoe though.

Just call and ask, I have found them to always be very helpful. For change of address I stopped by with the form and they printed up the new copy on the spot.

Funny thing, the form doesn't actually say what the paperwork is for, just sheriff's office change of address. The notary at the UPS store was giving me the stink-eye like I was a registered bad person or something :)

I just talked to them today. They directed me to the change of address form on the website. Told me to fill it out and send it to them. They'd send me a new permit with my new address on it.

No notary needed either.
Received them in about 2 weeks.
