I had a thought recently while putting together a couple blow out kits. You see all these prepackaged kits, that are all a bit too pricey. Putting a couple together myself made me realize, they are over priced, and if you know where to go, you can get the items much cheaper.
That being said, I have seen many places that are selling medical items at amazing prices, but just a bit too much as far as quantity. Seeing the group buys in the ammo section got me thinking, why not group buys for medical supplies?
We can pool our resources, find the best deals and get our hands on medical supplies for Great prices.
If anyone is interested, let me know.
5 cats
3 halo chest seal packs
5 z pack gauze
I'd consider more combat gauze based on a price.
I think this is a great idea.
I could use more QuikClot, and large bandages. Possibly also a box or two of the "single serving" packs of NSAIDs. I'm sure other stuff as well.
Definitely a terrific idea. I need to get a kit for my range bag and car. Can you post a few of the key items you're looking to buy in bulk and what their individual prices might be?

This is a great idea. I was just sitting here last night buying a handful of stuff for a few kits through Amazon. I found some decent prices on CATs and NPAs, but be wary of expiration dates on some of the things like QuickClot. There is at least one site selling Combat Gauze through Amazon for about half what you would pay anywhere else, but it expires next month.
I'd be in for 2-3 of the following, depending on the price:
- Quickclot Combat Gauze (green or red, not granules, and not the white-package stuff from Sports Authority)
- NPA w/lube
- Olaes bandage
- Combat Application Tourniquet (CAT)
- Hyfin or Halo chest seal

I have found a few dealers for smaller items and I think I know where to go for Hyfin chest seals and olaes bandages. Combat gauze is still the one item I'm unsure if we could find in bulk. Though for combat gauze, I have been going to ebay. Last one I picked up off of ebay had an expiration in 2014, and was $12.

Best place for single serving NSAIDs, in my opinion, is still Grainger. And there again, if we order bulk, we would all save money.

Here is a list of what I would like to get in bulk.
Good heavy nitrile gloves
z-pac wound packing
izzy or H bandages
NPAs
Olaes bandages
And anything else people can think of, we can search around and find a source.

I'm in for enough to put together at least another kit, possibly 2 if the deal is right.

Browse through fastenal. I have an account. Some items i save more than others. Until i have item # and qty i don't know.
See what the price is compared to grainger then deduct 10-15% off that on average.

I am pretty sure I can still get products from North American Rescue at Dealer Prices. I will have to call and check on Monday as I have not ordered anything in a while. I just stopped trying to resell stuff for kinda the same reason you guys mention, I could only sell products in very little quantities and it just wasn't worth the effort anymore and I was making little if no money - shipping kills!!!
One thing to keep in mind is NARP is very different with their reseller strategy. There is very little markup on their items, they just got into the reseller business a year or so ago (Galls). Before that it was military and direct sales only.
If you guys would like me to put together a price list I can do that, it may take a few days once I get the updated dealer prices. Take a look at their site, they have some nice new products including a pretty sexy Kydex CAT Holder.

Definitely can use Israeli bandages and cats... Quantity depends on pricing. Thanks
For those of you who have leftover Flexible Spending Plan dollars left at the end of the year.
www.fsastore.com (http://www.fsastore.com)
This is where we get our medical preps with leftover dollars that would normally just go to the government. The store is set up to tell you in plain sight whether or not the item is fsa approved or if you need a Rx to get it on FSA. It is updated with the latest changes to what you can and cannot get.
I know I need respirators the usable kind, where you can attach N99 type filters. If we could get a bunch of people together we could get a good deal from some industrial supply places. Even other types of PPE.

I have some prices from NA Rescue. As long as the Mods are fine with me posting for you guys to consider I will do so. Then if you want to order some things, I will figure out how to process and distribute it to save the most money.
Some items have good discounts (CAT's and Celox Gauze) and others not so much (Combat Gauze). I will PM a Mod or two and get an ok on this.

Harbor Freight has coupons for 5 mil nitrile blue gloves for $5.99/100. Costco sells them 2 boxes of 200 pairs for under $20.
PS - I pulled out a box of the Costco nitrile gloves and they don't list the thickness but I can tell you that I have found them to be very strong.

Thanks Mods [Beer]
Here are prices for some of the common items from North American Rescue.
If you want to purchase something pm me. Include your email in the pm, it will be much easier to manage through email once I place the order. If you want a price on something not listed use the thread or pm (They do not have any of the CTOMS stuff on their distributor list - sucks yeah, that stuff is awesome).
I am going to make Wednesday the 12th the last day for orders and payment to be received. If I do not have payment by the 12th I will not order your items. I will need payment prior to placing the order (Check or Credit Card). If you need something shipped I will come up with a shipping cost to add to your order (most likely USPS as it is easy to calculate). I would also ask that everyone add 3% to their order total for shipping costs from NARP. This should be enough
Again I hope you are not expecting 50% off, NA Rescue just does not do distributor/dealer pricing very well (they don't need to)
CAT - Black - $27.00
CAT - Orange - $30.00
CAT - Blue (TRAINER) - $30.00
Tourniquet Kydex Belt Holder - $35.00
ETD 4" - $4.00
ETD 6" - $4.50
S-Rolled Gauze - $2.00
Combat Gauze (Z-Fold) - $43.00
Chitogauze - $34.00
Celox Gauze (5' Z-Fold) - $28.00
Celox Gauze (10' Z-Fold) - $31.00
Celox Gauze (10" Rolled) - $34.00
HyFin - $13.00
HyFin Vent - $15.00
HyFin Extreme - $16.00
HyFin Twin Pack - $22.00
NPA (AnySize) - $5.00
ARS 14ga - $13.00
ARS 10ga - $17.00
Kits
TORK w/Celox Gauze - $160
TORK w/Chitogauze - $159
TORK w/Combat Gauze - $180
TORK BLS - $127
Eagle IFAK w/Celox Gauze - $149
Eagle IFAK w/Chitogauze - $151
Eagle IFAK w/Combat Gauze - $166
Eagle IFAK BLS - $98.00
One more favor, please do not be blasting these prices all over the place. Again NA Rescue does not do dealers stuff well and they do not have a minimum advertised price (MAP) but I am sure $30 off of some kits may not make some happy.
Any questions let me know. The Eagle IFAK and TORK are very nice compact kits. I still believe in Combat Gauze the most but a recent study found Chitogauze and Celeox Gauze very equal.
Again September 12th is the last day for payments. NA Rescue is usually pretty quick with shipping and the only thing I have even seen them back ordered on is S-Rolled Gauze (I had to wait a month and a half to get an order once).
Thanks

Chris,
Is it just me or would one be foolish not spend 16$ more and get the TORK with the combat gauze over the Eagle IFAK?

Yeah your getting just bit more with the TORK. I really liked this kit when it came out. Small and everything you need, very good kit.
The Eagle looks nice and I have not been hands on with one yet to just how compact it is. For LE it looks awesome, I may have to get one just to see. The internal system looks very nice in the Eagle.
I guess it comes down to space. If you have room for the TORK, go for it.

Are you a paramedic, or PA, or an MD? Because if not, I wouldn't be decompressing any thoracic cavities.

The gloves I was looking into were the Tactical Defense nitrile. They are longer, and made to go over your cuff of your uniform. I'm an employed EMT, if I want good blue nitrile, I can get them free. Haha
