View Full Version : I stood in disbelief at this stupidity…
Camping with my son this weekend, I went to my typical private camping spot that has a 100yrd distance to a huge backstop. I had my targets set up and spent a nice day of shooting with my son. Later in the day, two idiots on ATVs rode into our camp and proceeded to ride down range past my targets did a u-turn and decided that maybe…just maybe they were off trail not to mention down range. WTF. It would have made a nice pic. I just stood there dumbfounded and didn’t think about the camera; no words came to mind to say to them when they came back so I just looked at them in disbelief.

Thanks for not shooting me [Coffee]
OK, ok, not really me.
In this case, "Good non-shoot"
It might have improved the gene pool, had you continued to shoot as normal, but it's probably better that you chose to allow these examples of natural selection the opportunity to do us all a favor in the future...
Sure would have been hard to resist the temptation to let a couple fly......
A few years back, down at the south site. Had about 7-8 guys blazing happily away, when two yahoos rode their dirt bikes right along the top of the backstop. Got a cease fire called, stood there watching them just cross right above where all the targets were.
I still don't think they had a clue..
I've had this happen before. I even went shooting up by Blackhawk not too long ago and a car parked right to the side of the back stops we were shooting at just to go hiking or something in the woods behind.

This annoys me for one reason: Stay on Trail…I am really tired of trails, camping spots, etc. being closed because people can’t Stay The Trail (http://staythetrail.org/)!
I guess I was just more shocked rather than upset. I just can’t believe people would ride right past a guy with an AR-15 on a bipod and several target stations. These guys rode within 10 feet of my AR-15 station…what the hell?

You are making the assumption that they stay on trail in the first place?
We have lost a lot of trails around here to quads who liked to rip it up in the woods.
I was at Left Hand once when a couple of braas showed up. They promptly walk down range (a live range) and set up their targets.

I dunno... Sounds about typical for most people. I'd say it was just average stupid.
