OK so I have reloaded for pistol for a while , getting into rifle now.
made up some .223 for the AR and forgot to set the lock ring or what ever.
Started to crush the shoulder on 2 rounds before i noticed.
Enter the Lyman t shaped bullet puller

Read and reread the instructions, but can not get the confounded thing to work is there something i'm missing ??
thanks
Ron

Smack it on a piece of wood like the wood stole your lunch money for years and your finally big enough to beat his ass.

Get a block of wood (or other similar surface of your choosing (this suggestion does not include your hardwood floors)) and whack it like you mean it. It might be plastic but it isn't going to break. After doing a couple you will have the general idea of the force required. It is the inertia at the moment of impact that breaks the bulled loose from the casing.
Been whacking mine on a concrete floor for 20 years and has never broken... you wont believe how hard/fast you need to whack that thing.

As others have said, don't be gentle, and don't use the wood top of your work bench. Unless of course you are a fan of golf ball textured work tables.....[Tooth]

If you don't need to save the projectile you can pull it with your press and a pair of dikes.

OH.
Nevermind.
Yep its not as easy as you would think. Especially if you have a good crimp on that bullet and its a lighter bullet like a 55 or 62 grain.
It is way easier to pull heavy bullets like 168gr .308's
Like mentioned, beat it like it owes you money.
Kinetic bullet pullers make me think of this song. Enjoy [Beer]

You have to hit them harder than you would think. I am always worried about breaking mine, but I have not yet.
I have done hundreds with my Franklin.
I have a vise on the workbench, wind up and smack the living h_ll on the flat spot behind the jaws, works great!
