"The Department of Corrections(DOC) is investigating a shooting that happened at a facility near Canon City last week.
An inmate at the Fourmile Correctional Center in the East Canon Complex was shot in the knee while walking in the yard last Tuesday. The un-named inmate is originally from Mexico and is expected to recover from the injury.
As of now officials at DOC don't know where the 9mm bullet came from. There is a training range for correctional officers nearby, and they say it is possible that the bullet came from there, but not probable.
The investigation is continuing and we will bring you more information when we get it."

They say it was a 9mm, doesn't sound like DOC, they use .40 cal glock 22s. Unless it was thier SORT team training, they might have MP5s.

Too bad we're paying for the medical treatment.

In other news DOC&R in CA built a multimillion dollar dialysis facility for 1 life term inmate who needs a kidney transplant.
I have a few stories from CA DOC, all current.

I thought of Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Carribean, "No, not probable."

I wasn't aware dialysis cost that much... wow. Want free healthcare? Break the law and go to prison! [Bang][Bang]

Well when they try to stab your kid and some POS violent, multiple felon gets free meds and treatment, yeah it's a sore subject.
Go to CA change your name to something more exotic and see what the state gives you free of charge. Granted the taxpayer eats it.

And people wonder why CA is going down the toilet- still waiting for yet another city to go bust.
