Decided I really needed a 300Blk. I read Skully and other builds then started hunting parts.
The lower is built up from a PSA stripped unit. I picked up a pair of new sequential numbered lowers at a good price specifically to build a 300Blk and a M4orgery. The lower was completed with a VLTOR Clubfoot stock and mil-spec buffer tube picked up from Skully and a CMMG LPK, carbine buffer and spring thats Bowers Tactical had in stock for a good price.
Now I was going to assemble my own upper using a Blackhole Weaponry barrel, a stripped upper, LMT BCG, etc. Until I called Bowers today to ask if they had any upper parts in stock. Shocker- they had a CMMG 300Blk SS upper in stock and ready to go. I took a side trip by and sure enough, it was pretty close to what I wanted... except for the standard M4 handguards and front sight . So I went ahead and picked up a Troy 11" rail and they installed it for me.
Popped the bits together this evening and everything fits/functions as it should. Will make a trip out to the range in the next day or so to break in the barrel and check function.
Will post pics later...
Rock on. I am excited to see the pics. The 300 Blackout is my next build. Going to go SBR and suppressor though. Hopefully have the lower built by the end of the year. Congrats on the new long blaster. [Awesom]

Will get pics up tomorrow am, been busy around here.
I guess I am honored to be an honorable mention in your post even though I bailed on 300 BLK and went 308. My 30 cal is bigger than your 30 cal..........

Juuuuuuz giving you shite. Post some pics man! [Beer]
Skully,
Bigger is NOT always better.
Most of the areas I work in, SKILL and EXPERIENCE, results in a more satisfying event! [ROFL1]

Sweet! I'm currently waiting for permission from the ATF to let me know that I am allowed to have my 300BLK SBR. I can't wait.
I was giving serious consideration to putting together a 300 Blackout until I saw one in action. Needless to say, I was rather unimpressed.
Let us know how it functions after you get it out to put some rounds through it. [Awesom]

How so Ray? i am only 40 rounds into the blackout world and am so far intrigued need to run quite a few more rounds thru it.

I'd rather not discourage the OP from his build. My experience with this caliber is limited to being around one rifle. Let's just say it was very unreliable.
I absolutely adore my 300 blackout...first 20-30 rounds were a little rough...couple of FTFs, Fail to Hold Bolt Open on empty mag. But the more I shot it that day, I found those things disappearing. Ended the day at 80 rounds...last couple of mags ( 10 rounds loaded in a 20, and 20 loaded in a 20) ran beautifully. A few hundred rounds since and the gun has functioned perfectly every time. It is smooth and accurate and has become my favorite rifle.

Went out and shot the rifle at Cherry Creek yesterday. Ran awesome on 115GR UMC Remington, but did not really like 220GR subsonic Remington. The last few rounds of the subsonic would shortstroke and not load the chamber. This will likely go away as the round count goes up, but if not should be cured with some minor tuning.
Other than the shortstroking I had zero issues with feeding using the 115gr Remington in TROY Battlemags. I did not bring any other mag with me, but no reason to think it will be picky about them. I did clean and lube the fire control group and BCG before I headed out.
Next up is to try a Vortex Sparc on a 1'oclock mount and see how I like that.

Still need to put a dot on it but not bad for right at $700 in it. PSA upper and LPK. Surplus arms lower and Ace stock. MOE handguard and a used BCG. I kind of like it for my first "New School" AR. http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/Picture557Medium.jpghttp://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac44/jerrymrc/toys/Picture558Medium.jpg

Just MHO but the SS barreled CMMG setup at Bowers would be a better value since it comes with the BCG and charge handle and is a Stainless barrel and best of all is in stock. :)

Went to the range Friday to run my new 5.56 gun but could not resist throwing out some .300. I am really liking this gun a lot. It is more accurate than I am and I have had zero feed or extraction issues using the 110rnd UMC ammo.
The next step is to maybe swap out the AR332 scope for a 3-9 power or similar scope and add a red dot type sight on a 1o'clock mount, figure out my sling setup, and possibly add a VFG and light mount setup.
I want one of these for mine but its a little pricey. http://leupold.webyshops.com/?p=186
