My new 1968 Chevelle SS!!

I just got this thing last night from a guy in Golden and couldn't be happier with it! It has a Chevrolet ZZ502 crate motor mated to a Tremec 6 Speed tranny. Two owner car with 93k on the chassis. It came from the factory with A/C, Power Steering, Power disc brakes, Roller Tachometer and tons of other options (air shocks, posi traction rear end etc).

What was the original tranny in the car? My 71 Vette (very early stages of a project car) has the 3 speed auto, and I eventually would like to convert it to a manual.

Original Engine tranny combo was the 350HP 396 and a turbo hydramatic trans. Current setup has 850cfm holley carb put down over 400 rwhp. Engine spec'd at 502hp and 567tq

Very sweet! Congrats! Back in the day, I had a '68 Chevelle and a '69 Chevelle SS. Great rides! Get a fiberglass front-end kit and some ladder bars cuz you'll need 'em!

Having driven a 70 GTO with this size wheel and tire along with a swaybar upgrade it is a great bang for the buck upgrade. Ya already have the 502 and TKO so why not. [Flower]

I used to have one of those back in the 70's. Lord, I wish I still had it, had some good times in that car. Wasn't near as slick as yours though.

Lots of my buds use to run Chevelles and Novas.They pretty much went back to the earth with the way NY rust is.

I think that green was the most popular color of that timeframe,and that goldish brown,for all makes.Detroit musta had an over abundance of the stuff...

I'd love to hear that 502 talking. I looked at some Chevy crate motors once when I still had my '72 C10 that I was thinking about customizing. That's gotta be better than the old big-blocks by orders of magnitude!
