Just saw two people Get into a fight here at DIA.d. I'm waiting for a plane.hear a girl yell and see two guys throwing punches. I would imagine that holds a pretty tough penalty. Anyone have any input

You know, the airline that doesn't give seat assignments, it's first come first served. I hate that airline.

Probably alcohol involved too.

If so, they're getting an early start on the day or it was quite the evening!

Well hate on Southwest all you want but they are the ONLY airline who has not terminated anyone since 9/11, they are also the only airline that has stayed productive financially since 9/11. Other airlines act like they are "high class" etc. and I have never been anything but disappointed with service from American. I'll take Southwest any day!

No, but they're boarded by when you checked in. Check in exactly 24hrs before your flight (or pay the $10 to check in a week in advance) and you will board the plane first, which means you get your pick of the seats. I love that airline. But mostly because I live in the southwest and its the cheapest airline available to me. lol

I am not hating on Southwest. In fact I applaud their company profile. My wife did a paper on the company when she was in school. I just say that because of the stigma associated with Southwest. I only fly Southwest and i have never had an issue other than getting there to early and having to wait for a gate to open!

A good friend of mine who frequents this site works for Southwest. I work for a different airline.

Just some friendly ribbing.

My two worst delays were both on United. A 3 hour delay in 2007 and an 8 hour delay in 2000.

Ok whoopty doo about after 9-11. Moot point. What vehicle do you drive?
Your arguement is negated Im sure.

I flew for 2 years 2-4 or 5 times a week and we avoided SW with a passion.
They are terrible at luggage handling and if you had a connection, you surely lost a bag if not all.
The seat assignment thing was bullshit and causes more issues then it helps.
Never flew American same reasons (regarding baggage handling).

I would have guessed American. Who wants to fly in the back of an MD80? They are just 200,000lb dog whistles.

I think it was Delta that is what we are flying. Been here since 0500. Finally got on damn standby. Our plane is a Boeing 737 just apparently had mechanical trouble earlier.. Wish me luck!!

Me too...

Hole opens in Southwest jet at 30,000 feet

ukWU2-w6HnM

I fly 75-85 times per year. I don't particularly care for Southwest because as a business traveler I like to have my seat assigned at booking and I need to have the ease of changing my flight anytime. But the most important thing is I don't care for the seats on ANY older Boeing planes...even the retrofitted Southwest fleet. The retrofit's goal was to actually reduce cabin weight and the seat construction suffered. They are uncomfortable to me and although I have never measured, Boeing 737 seats seem narrower than the Airbus seats.

But in truth, I really don't have anything against them either...Southwest seems to be a top notch company. It seems to work well for families traveling.

And I don't fly American because MD80's are the worst.

But right now, Frontier gets my business unless I am going to a place they don't fly. Mainly because I find their seats comfortable and their customer service has always treated me right.

^ That certainly was some "raw" video. Judging by the quality it looks as though it was recorded with a brick.

While not good, that does't hold a candle to that Aloha Airlines flight that became a convertible mid-flight

I don't care what airline i'm on. Very rarely do i not get a requested seat.
Why? I play the card. Whether i'm parking, limping or crawling across the tarmac i know my seat is SAVED.
Cause this is the way i roll!

I've flown with many airlines and my least favorite are:

American
British Airways
Air France.

I fly to LAX a lot and I like SouthWest. I like Frontier too but their seats are as hard as hell in my opinion.

Given the choice, I'd fly nothing BUT British Airways, my experiences with them have always been stellar. Other than Cathay, I don't know of any airline but BA that hands out menu's in economy class on long-haul flights.

I cannot imagine flying standby. Everything is always overbooked and full (at least on United). I feel for the ones that get bumped.

I agree. British Airways has always been stellar in my opinion. It's a jolly good time jumping the puddle with them.
