View Full Version : How to get some of the lube off lead bullets?
My last shipment from Missouri Bullet Company came way over-lubed. They're positively gooey. Is there any way to partially de-lube them? If not, can I totally remove the lube and start over?

Why not contact Missouri Bullets and ask. They're really good people. Busy, but great people!! I'm sure they'd like to know...
Probably not there on a holiday weekend, and I'm hoping to load up every bullet in the shop in the next two days.
I tried a 5 minute soak in laquer thinner, and that helped some. I may go a little longer, or just live with cleaning the dies every 100 rounds. Next time I order, I'll definitely ask for a little less goop.

I'd still give them a call, they're around almost all the time. If you're on Facebook, check their page and see if they say they've gone anywhere.
Really, they're one of the most responsive bullet makers I've seen.
Some folks say a bit of isopropyl alcohol might help.

Yup. I have cleaning it down now, but the finished cartridges are so gooey I'm having to individually wipe them off with laquer thinner. 300 more and I'll be through this batch of bullets.
You ever buy your own rig?
