Has anyone been watching The Newsroom on HBO?

I think it's a great show. I have a feeling that a lot of people on here will think it has a liberal slant to it, and write it off, but I think it really deserves a watch. It is in season 1 and I think up to 10 episodes so far. It stars Jeff Daniels and Emily Mortimer, and Sam Waterson plays the boss. Give it a watch if you are into political stuff. Basically it is a show about a news anchor (Jeff Daniels) who decides to pull the rug out from under both parties and constantly makes huge controversy. They are covering all the big news that happened last year.

I watched the first episode last night and really liked it. Great writing and superb acting talent.

Cool that you watched. I think once you get past I think the 3 episode, you are on board. Which ever episode is the one where they go on the air and lay out their plan of what kind of news organization they want to be.

I've been watching it since it aired, the first 5 mins of the pilot episode had me hooked. I've been watching since.

If only ALL news stations did that.. I love how they make fun of Nancy Grace..[Coffee]

It's a joke, totally unoriginal and predictable with shallow characters and little plot development. Watch closely and you will see that it is the same thing every episode with the different segments just reorganized each episode.

Like most TV shows today it is recycled trash with a new coat of paint.

Just my opinion, no more, no less, you are welcome to yours.

Triumph, I agree that the show does absolutely follow the standard protocol for tv shows.

This show really has it out for the tea party. It seems like liberal writers, trying to be balanced. Is it too much to ask that everyone on this site obtains HBO and watches all ten episodes so we xan discuss the Tea Party issues? I also didn't like how the voter id thing was presented in the last episode.

I want to write to Aaron Sorkin and ask his opinion of showing id for gun purchases, and his take on the TSA.
