Canning is quickly becoming a lost art. I am so glad I was able to learn from my Grandma, because my mom wanted nothing to do with it.

The family is getting together here soon to have a big canning party and the wife and I are really looking forward to it... by the way she's very envious of that 5 gallon chili pot. Where do I get one of those for her?

I think it is coming back. 10 years ago there was 1/2 a rack of canning goods at king soopers. Now there is twice that. Big canning displays here in Oregon at Bi-Mart and other stores.

I need to have another class. It was popular a couple of years ago. [Flower]

I would also be interested even though I have been doing it for years, I am sure there are some tricks I have not learned yet.

Much like a few buddies of mine getting together once in a while to brew beer together, you learn a different way to do many things.

As far as the pot i do not know where i picked it up. i use it for brewing mostly. being super tall it is miserable to clean i know there are a great selection of pots at the cresco restaurant supply off 6th and I 225 in Aurora. Like pots almost 30 gallons in capacity selection.

Where does everyone pick up their bulk vegetables for canning if you don't have a garden?

My wife goes to Sprouts on 120th mostly, but also gets some at King Soopers on sale.

Looks awesome, the pepper infused vodka sounds fun, nice choice with svedka by the way, you might also want to try ruskova as well :) I've been pickling (mainly pickles, carrots, and eggs) for a while now, I want to get an oak barrel from a local winery and make some salt pork :)
