View Full Version : For Those of You that Might have actually missed Me,
Just spent 44 hours in the hospital getting pumped full of antibiotics for My foot. Had 'em all freaked out, They didn't even know what to call it. All the rest of my vital signs were normal, Heck I didn't even have an elevated white blood cell count. Which, considering what the foot looked like is amazeing.
Since it was looking so much better today, with reservations they sent Me home, I think they were hinting that They would've liked for Me to stay a couple more days. [Rant2] But I made promises that I would do what They told Me to do, So they let Me go. Looks Like I maybe stuck here at home at least untill wed. So, I'll have to see how it goes for next weekend Karl.

That does not sound like any fun. What did you do to your foot to cause this in the first place?
Hope you recover soon.
Not quite sure, started out a what looked like a blister that had broke a couple of weeks ago, and I thought I had taken care of it good enough. then all of a sudden it looked as if I had gotten into poison ivy, all sollen up and oozeing, so, I tried teating it like that. Nothing I did worked. Finally just gave up and went to the clinic on Fri. He sent Me right to the ER.
Looks much better now, I just may be out of action for a couple more days.
Wouldn't be as good, now that the swelling has gone down. [Wink]
Spider bite? thats really the only thing that i can think of... hope you get better :)
Thanks Greg,
Thought about the spider bite senerio, Can't really remember getting bit, unless it was in the middle of the night.
They did kind of rule that out, Called it "Cellusitus" May have to look it up here.
Well as long as it's getting better that's all I care about at the moment.
Thank You Foxtrot, That's the thing though, I don't remember doing anything to deserve it. I mean at least You have a good story to go along with Yours. [LOL]

Damn, hope it's better than it sounds, 'cause it sounds painful.
I hope it heals fast for you.
Well, since I have little else to do, I thought of this, It has been 34 years since I spent anytime at all in a hospital, July, 1973, Tore up My left knee on the bike, spent about 2 days, waiting to get My knee drained. Just glad they didn't have to use the large bore needle this time.[ROFL1]

Was swollen with red, crusty stuff on it, now it's not swollen with red crusty stuff on it. Not that great of a picture. Sorry[Neene1]
sounds more like some sort of VD, now exactly where have you been putting your foot?
Things are starting to look up, the foot is almost back to its normal size and, as soon as the dead, scabby skin falls off, I should be able to walk normally again.

Just don't infect the dog with the affliction.[LOL]
Sorry to hear about the foot Marlin, if it makes you feel any better, i'm now on day 3 of a gout attack in both my feet, and all my toes and all my fingers.
I've just been dealing with the right foot and ankle for the past week. That sounds like one hell of an attack. You have my sympathies. I've broken my hand twice, and a heavy onset of gout I've found to be far more painful. Hopefully you can tolerate indomethacin. I can't, so it's colchicine for me. Good luck with your meds and keep drinking plenty of water.
At least having gout gives me a good excuse to not eat internal organs (liver, kidneys, "sweetbread") and spinach.[Wink]
Well, put on a shoe about a hour ago. Then took a little drive. so far,so good.

Indomethcin AND cochicine right now. Tomorrow if it still isn't starting to clear up I start the steroids. I seem to get really bad attacks when I have them.
Apparently a dip with spinach in it is what did it this time.
Glad to hear you're feeling better Marlin.[Beer]
Spinach is the worst for me...really high uric acid levels from that devil weed.
I quit taking allopurinol for maintenance because it was making me very tired, muscle injuries took really long to heal, and I seemed to have attacks more often that were very severe in nature. It was almost like it was masking the effects until it was a full-blown attack. Now I seem to notice an onset sooner.
Naproxen sodium (Aleve/Naprosyn) works very well for me with the inflammation. In really severe cases I'll ice the areas down. Fortunately, I can tell in my right foot when things are heading down that ugly road and I jump on the colchicine and Aleve right away and head things off. I have had those moments before I knew I had gout when the ankle was a little sore when I went to bed and couldn't walk when I woke up. Bummer!
...but I guess it's better than having diabetes.
I'm praying for you.
...and Marlin.
Man, I'm glad Mine wasn't that bad.[Abused]
You get better also Scott.
Good to hear, there's gonna be a dance-off at the next party!:p
Couldn't dance before, What makes You think I can do it now.[Wink]
