I have a DPMS Oracle upper that I want to put iron sights on.

My plan is to use Magpul MBUS Gen 2 rear.

But the single rail gas block on the Oracle is significantly lower than the receiver rail so using a Magpul MBUS front sight is out.

I have sent emails and left phone messages to DPMS but have had no reply.

What front sight would be compatible?

Thanks

Thanks Delfuego,

Holy sheep dip! That's a spendy little piece.

You wouldn't want to mount the magpul front sight on the gas block, it would melt. A fixed front sight would be cheaper, but not by much. It needs to be gas block height.

I might have a YHM or other mfg front sight in my parts pile. I'll check later today, if you have not located one.

Thanks Jim.

Still looking at options so I'll be interested to see what you find.

BTW - We lived in Windsor back in 2000. Nice little town back then. Sure has grown.

Problem with a fixed front sight, at least the one I have, is that it uses the tapered pins and the barrel boss where the FS would mount does not have the pin relief milled in. The low profile GB on the Oracle uses 2 set screws in the bottom that mate with 2 recesses in the barrel boss.

They are only $64.99 from Midway (street price), which is pretty reasonable compared to the likes of Troy, Midwest and ARMS.

For what its worth, I have the same on but at "rail height" and its has been good to go, cheap, durable and holds zero.

you can also get a picatinny adapter to raise the gas block rail to the same height as the others. 7.oo adapter then opens up to get a regular front sight.
