YES!!!!!
The price of Egyptian parts kits have gone through the roof. They got lucky and managed to score a bunch of kits,I give it less than a week before these are gone.....
Trusting you on this just bought one.
What do you recommend for a 5.56 parts kit? Anyone?

Wow I diddn't realize a lot of distributors had them.
Must have gotten a crapload of them if a few distributors have them.I wonder if these are recent from Iraq/asscrackistan?I would think the Balkans would be dried up by now.

Amazing how much a parts kit is going for, considering when they came in to the US you couldn't give them away. SURE they were touted as BUILT ON RUSSIAN TOOLING, the finish sucked and furniture looked like it was made from petrified camel shit.
Now ANY Kalashnikov action rifle is climbing faster the Obama's disapproval rating.
F%^&* it i'll order 1 maybe 2 . Cooler weather's a comin
Yup Jim,I'm kicking myself in the ass for not getting more of those AMD kits when they gave em away with every order over a $400[Bang]
And that was a lot of stuff you bought for $400!!
I kick myself for not mortgaging my house and purchasing all the Romy G kits with original barrels for $89.
I figure if I bought a 1000 kits and sold them now I'd be about $250,000 richer right now if not more.
If only someone had a time machine.

Too bad no one has those. I've seen those folding crutch stocks sell for $350 on GB. Fuckin A.
WOW sold out on both sites since yesterday glad i bought mine!
lol, my fault. I bought 20 of them. Sorry.
I talked with Richard from APEX at the show today and he was saying these kits in fact were from the Balkans.Probably got there in a roundabout way.
But thats probably the last batch of stuff from over there.

Well now I'm thinking there a flood of them in now and the distributors are battling each other on price so I think you'll see them for a while at a decent price-that is before the election, who knows what'll happen afterwards..

The reason they are out of stock is they are just receiving them and they put them up on the website to prime people just like when then yugo krink kits came in, I talked to arms of America tester and they are getting them in this weekend and listing them Monday

Well, that is my best guess, based on what I have been told.
If I ever get any of the Egyptian kits into our warehouse I should learn more from any documents & other clues that are in the crates.
A few years back, the last lot of Balkans Wars part sets we had came here by way of an arms broker in the UK.

What to look for in a parts kit? There's so many different kits out there. I'm afraid that if I don't buy one soon, I'll miss out. I know there's a big shipment of AKs waiting to come in the country somewhere, but what if...

Get an Egyptian kit since the side folder alone is probably worth around 100-125 now days

Ok. I was between the maadi and the bulgy kit from armsofamerica. I want the 74 though for a main gun and a 47 for possible SBR project. What are your thoughts on Nodak receivers?

They are in stock, buy them. Some are B/ordered until mid-late nov. if they don't have in stock what you want, get on the list.

NODAK. Go to the source, not outsource. Again they might be B/ordered, get on the list. IF O stays, the list will never hit bottom.

What do you think about side rail mounts for the optics rail? Is it worth it to spent the little extra for the NDS-2EZ?
Edit - Also, how do you feel about the chrome lined US barrels? Is it better to have an original Bulgarian barrel? Trying to put together the list of everything I need to buy for my first build.
So far my list includes a bulgy 74 kit less barrel and receiver, Nodak receiver (prob NDS-2EZ), US chrome-lined barrel, and a rivet set. Anything else I need to add to that list?
A siderail would be nice to have if you want to mount a comblock style scope to it-they make a bracket basicly that mounts to that rail and has a picatiny rail on top to mount us optics on.
Or you can go with a dogleg type rail which mounts up to where your rear sight leaf goes and it goes over the top cover and bolts down to the stock screw that mounts the stock into the rear tang. But the good ones are pricy at $150 or so and other versions are less expensive-$45 or so,but not as sturdy.
Me personaly I would go with the side rail setup, cheaper and more solid in the long run.
American barrels, chrome lined or not are ok Arms of America and Green Mountain make good quality ones. They come with the extractor cut and the handguard retainer notch-you have to drill the gas hole for the gasblock-not a big ordeal
Original Bulgys are great but if there a pulled barrel you more than likely have to oversize drill the barrell pin hole to headspace it,again not a big ordeal.
The choice is up to you on what you feel comfortable doing and on price range.
Add to your list a US fire control group-hammer disconnector trigger and springs to bring your 922 parts count up.Also a US muzzle break.
If I missed something I'm sure jim or jreifsch80 will fill in the blanks [Tooth]
