Like the title says, first AR (budget) build thanks to the help of Jim and the Rachel ray of AK's. New frontier lower, a1 upper, standard bc, bolt and power spring from us armory corp, 100 dollar barrel, cmmg lpk and the rest from model 1 sales except for the blackhawk quad and vert grip and a couple of stainless c product mags yet to be camo'd custom camo done myself with rustolium camo and some blue painters tape. The build actually didnt turn out half bad for how it started out, with a bubba'd rattle can paint job on a 40 year old partially stripped upper and a $79 lower from new frontier.

I like how it came out.And best of all is the price!!!
The money you saved can buy you some ammo to shoot it with!!

Got me to thinking on building a light weight.

You know Z i thought i was going to cut this down and use a xm 4.5 moderator on it but i have the moderator in a drawer right now wrapped in plastic. I thought it was going to be front heavy but no its perfectly balanced especially with CAR HG's, it does get a little front heavy with the quad and vert grip but not too bad at all. If i were to do another one it would be with an A2 upper though, better rear sight and it will match up to the lower better and all that.

Looks great nick, I like how the camo turned out its different than what you normally see, that would look great on your tantal too

Thanks for the input guys, yeah thats a spade I had a pack of playing cards laying around and it was just one of those on the fly ideas you throw into a project while your doing it. I dont know yet if i want to camo my tantal though. Im going to paint the receiver and rough it up to match the rest of the gun and if i dont like it like that im going to camo it, just having trouble remembering what you said you used to do the aging like you did on your rifle Justin.
