The September meeting of the Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition (PPFC) (http://ppfc.org/) is this Thursday, September 13th at VFW Post 4051, 430 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO (https://maps.google.com/maps?q=430+East+Pikes+Peak+Avenue,+Colorado+Spring s,+CO&hl=en&sll=38.875684,-104.758359&sspn=0.419629,0.891953&oq=430+East+Pikes+Peak+Avenue,+Colorado+Springs&hnear=430+E+Pikes+Peak+Ave,+Colorado+Springs,+Colo rado+80903&t=m&z=17) (Eastern edge of downtown) at 7pm.

This Thursday's topics are NFA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Firearms_Act) (National Firearms Act - machine guns, silencers, short barreled rifles, etc.) related: NFA Trusts and trusts in general by Colorado Springs attorney Dan Usiak (http://www.usiaklaw.com/) and how to own NFA firearms by Rick and Kathy Wildman of Wildfire Mercantile (http://www.wildfire223.com/), a local NFA dealer.

The PPFC is a local 2nd Amendment activist organization and has been around for about 20 years or so, founded when the need to influence local elections became evident because many local politicians go on to be not-so-local politicians. If you keep the local politicians pro-gun, that position propagates to the state and national levels.

Admission is free.

I’ll be there, probably wearing my black "Stamp Collector (http://www.nfashirts.com/images/DSC_3985.jpg)" shirt :)

This Thursday's PPFC meeting (Oct 10) has David Kopel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Kopel) scheduled as the guest speaker. However, he may be called to testify in Washington on short notice, so there's a chance he may not be there. I'll post any information I get on this as we approach Thursday night.

(If Kopel is called away, I'm sure we'll be able to talk our new Senator, Bernie Herpin, into saying a few words!)
