Yeah, today of all days. They should pull all aid to them, fuck 'em. This part struck me as odd:

Rafik Farouk, 38, an Egyptian Christian, also took part. "I am here because I am Egyptian and reject anything that insults Islam or anything that sparks division in Egypt," he said.

I thought all embassies had armed Marines. Why weren't these invaders shot?

^^ tolerance of their first speech. We must constraint our right and keep giving them 1.3 billion dollars annually. We are the infidels, please dont forget that.

Interesting:

In place of the U.S. flag, the protesters tried to raise a black flag with the words "There is no God but God, and Mohammad is his messenger", a Reuters witness said.

One slogan scrawled on the walls of the embassy, which is near Tahrir Square where Egyptians revolted against Mubarak, said: "If your freedom of speech has no limits, may you accept our freedom of action."

Still believe in a peaceful Islam?

"We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others," the U.S. embassy said in its statement.

So it's OK for them to have free speech but not us? When did it become a "universal right"? Why aren't we defending it in other places? Oh that's right, we helped put these Islam leaders in power in Egypt & Libya and .... How about protecting the Christians that are getting slaughtered?

I'm surprised the embassy staff didn't just go & help them with their protest!

Does not an attack on a foreign embassy constitute an attack on the nation itself?

So sick and tired of us turning a blind eye to this "religion of peace" and it's lack of tolerance.

This sort of thing didn't used to happen in Egypt. Here is a quote on why that was:

"In Mubarak's era, protests were usually swiftly halted by an often brutally efficient police force."

Embassy security is a shared responsibility between the State Dept and the USMCESG (http://www.mcesg.marines.mil/) Ultimately the Ambassador makes the call on what actions will be taken to defend the personnel and facilities. God help the small detail when the wall comes down and hundreds of thousands of angry people come through. If the Egyptian government doesn't provide backup and control the crowd, a few Marines will not stop the hoard (See Tehran, Iran 1979).

Be safe.

This was my first thought- and fear. Could Cairo become the next Iran Hostage Crisis?

This shit pisses me off along with alot of others. Then the assholes come here and complain when they don't get free business loans. When we can't even get paid enough to pay our bills.

Maybe we should stop our annual $1.3 billion in aid to Egypt. I believe it is mostly military so it is an indirect subsidy to our defense industry but it would be fun. The real power in Egypt is the army so they might change their tune in a hurry.

This aid is the result of ol' President Peanut Jimmy buying himself a Nobel Peace Prize by having Egypt & Israel make peace. Egypt's Sadat was later assassinated over this.

Im sure Obama will send them a letter apologizing that the US flag was so high up and they had to scale walls to get to it. In the meantime, lets keep sending money to them and supporting their "Arab Spring." We never learn.

Libya too:

Libya militias storm US consulate over 'insulting' film (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-19562692)

Reports say they were protesting against a US-made film that is allegedly insulting to the Prophet Muhammad, and set fire to the building.

The building is said to have burnt down. It is thought nobody was in the consulate at the time.

Okay now I'm just livid. The Embassy issued an apology for hurting these people's feelings.

What the F@%K?

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

The White House isn't happy about that.

The prophet Mohammed was a pedophile, murderer, thief, con man, bigot, and pervert. What a great guy. A religion of pussies. Muslims burn our flag, destroy Christian churches, and kill non-believers in that goat lover of a religion. We do nothing. Hillary and Obama will bend over for them. Wonder what would happen if we did the same to their mosques or moon god? Fucking cry-babies.

A part of me wouldn't mind seeing this happen... let them taste their own medicine.

I'd like to know if the two Seals that were killed were allowed to be armed. I wonder because so far I've not heard of any reports of any dead terrorists; if they were armed they would have taken out dozens of those assholes before they died. If they weren't armed shame on us.
