Or should I say, ZERO. What a douchebag. Can't even show enough respect to simply stand up during the national anthem.

Just when I thought I couldn't hate liberalism any more than I do some dickhead like this guy comes along to prove me wrong.

Story HERE (http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/npr-reporter-refuses-to-stand-for-pledge-national-anthem.html).

“This is always an uncomfortable moment for me,” Shapiro wrote, referring to an announcement asking people to stand for the pledge and the Star Spangled Banner.

“While I sat at my laptop, most of the reporters around me stood and put their hands over their hearts. This time instead of just sitting and working, I tweeted what I was feeling.”

Shapiro tweeted that he was torn about what to do.
“I’m a rally observer, not a participant,” he wrote. “Yet most reporters around me stand for the anthem & pledge. I’m one of the few that doesn’t. Setting myself up for accusations I guess.”

Shapiro said he anticipated a “flood of vitriol” – but instead received support.

“As a qualitative researcher, I aim for respectful non-participation & try to blend into the background,” one supporter wrote.

“The whole concept has always struck me as a bit fascist, having to stand when demanded to affirm our allegiance,” tweeted another.
Liberals are only alive because it's generally illegal to kill them. We should at least get a daily bag limit.

C. Tweet about the Fascist nature of pledging allegiance
D. Smoke Pot
E. Occupy something
F. Who cares
G. Bug out because the zombies are coming
H. Buy more ammunition
I. Vote for a 3rd party candidate
J. Rant about people who rant
K. Learn how to can vegetables
L. Log into CO AR-15 and make up stupid multiple choice quizzes

I know my first reaction to everyone who is classless and rude is to want to murder them.

Wait, no. It isn't.

This smacks of a desperate attempt to get attention. I wouldn't give this guy more than an eye roll for his efforts.

This is the stupid woman that sat in front of my wife and in laws during the broncos game national anthem. Hat, seated, food in hand. I was in the south stands Or I would've told that stupid fat bitch to put down her chicken strips, take off that hat, stand up and show some fucking respect.

Demanded patriotism is about as meaningful as saying I love you just to get laid. The byproduct of freedom doesn't always taste good to everyone, and that's the point of it. I support to the death his refusal to summit to pressure to do what he doesn't feel within, I just don't relate to his void of sentiment. I don't have to.

Nobody's demanding he feel a sense of patriotism. It's just Goddamn common courtesy and respect to stand during the anthem.

If I go to a hockey game and the Avs are playing a Canadian team I'd stand during the Canadian anthem just like I would the US national anthem.

hy·per·bo·le

[hahy-pur-buh-lee] noun

1. obvious and intentional exaggeration.

2. an extravagant statement or figure of speech not intended to be taken literally, as “to wait an eternity.”It's kind of a new concept. Not everyone's heard of it yet.

Fvck him and fvck the fat bitch at the Donkey game.
I have laid into people at events for not standing or taking off a hat etc.
I have had it up to my gills with people disrespecting our flag, anthem and country.
Countless people have sacrificed all they had and then some to give us the life where we can speak freely and attend a sporting event.
Show some respect you classless corksuckers or get the fvck out of MY country!

I will be happy to show you the door.

Yea, it pisses me off.
Big time.

(sorry to vent, but this crap really rubs a nerve.)

I will agree with demanded patriotism being hollow but see nothing wrong with a certain demand of respect for something that is held in reverance.
Like the USA, the Flag, the National Anthem, veterans, marriage, parents, children and our elders to name a few.
I think this lack of respect of a few basic things in our society is a core causative factor for the shitpot we are in today.
Libs seem to gravitate around things that lack in respect.

This.

I don't "demand" that someone be patriotic. Feel free to act like a spoiled teenager. But I don't see anything wrong with ridiculing those that lack respect for the very nation that ALLOWS them to not be patriotic either. Call them out and make them feel uncomfortable. Try not standing for the Chinese National Anthem if your in China, asshats.

This guy need to think of those disabled veterans that can no longer stand up to protect his right of not standing up.

Exactly. Arguments for conformity, for squelching of self expression and thought, spit in the face of their sacrifice. You don't have to agree with the frame of mind, but you damn well should support their right to have and express it, regardless of what you think of it.
