I currently carry a Glock 26. I liked the Kahr CW9 as well, but got rid of it because the trigger reset was not all that great, mags were not a great time to reload, also the takedown was a PITA. My old Kel-tec PF9 was great for size, but not so much for trigger or reliability. Also the weight on the PF9 was so minimal that the recoil was more than idea. I had good results with the CW9, even though it wasn't much heavier.
So, I guess I'm more or less looking for a single stack similar to a Glock 26. I've heard some good things about the S&W MP Shield, but heard that the trigger is a bit heavy. Anything else out there that might be an option for what I'm looking for?
Walther PPS?
I also like the shield.

Not similar at all to a Glock, However very nice shooter. I ran a mag or 2 through it this weekend and a very accurate, smooth and consistent shooter. IF i was a SA, Single stack shooter, it would be mine. Oh yeah he's an ok guy to deal with too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I dropped by Sportsman's today and picked up a CM9. The CW9 I used to have wasn't bad at all -- considering that small size with reliability are what I'm after, the CM9 should be good.
Only problem is that my gun safe is officially full now. I'm going to have to sell some gu... I mean buy a bigger safe now.
I am hunting for an M&P Shield, but it seems that they are more than scarce. Any leads as to where there might be one available?

As a fellow CM9 owner, I might make one suggestion before you go out and shoot it... after cleaning and lubing it up really well, hand cycle it as many times as your hands can tolerate. I say this because the fit and finish of my CM9 is so tight that it's almost "scratchy" feeling. Definitely more so than any other pistol I've owned or rented. After shooting about 400 rounds of break in, it's gliding a little better, but I had several failures to eject early on, and hand cycling it to smooth it out some, might save you a little ammo during the break in period.
And congratulations on the new addition!

Get on a list somewhere or if you need it now....gunbroker has them for around $600[Bang]
Wow, a buck fifty over MSRP. I think I'll find a list. Thanks.

There's a Tanner show this weekend in Denver. I've seen them there at the last 2 shows I went to. Maybe there will be a table with one this time too.

Thanks, good idea. I've been doing some of that already.
I had a CW9 previously, I was warned about the break in issues but actually never had any issues with any of the 500 rounds I put through it. Was pretty happy with it, kinda wish I kept it though the small size of the CM9 makes it perfect for what I need.
