Since there is no fishing section that I know of...

A friend emailed me a video of a school of halibut. Not my friend in the video. The capt lowered a go pro into the water. Pretty cool. I guess they were biting bare hooks and jumping out of the water. These are bottom fish!

What would be awesome would be catching a halibut w/ the go pro.

Pretty cool. I just got back from AK and have about 50lbs of Halibut in the freezer.

That is a bizarre vidfeo.

I've often wondered why the crab fishermen on Deadliest Catch just don't lower a camera to the floor to see if there's anything down there. I'm guessing that it's probably not legal. But if they could, the money they spent on the camera set up would be recouped quickly.

Haha, my nefew and ex-brother-in-law are on the time bandit.

I'm guessing because it would probably be pitch black and take a beating.

Ill be up there on Monday, and be sure to rob meats from their freezers. [Tooth]

You're probably right. But hell, throw it in a basket with a big ass light and take a look. When you are talking about millions of dollars, if it were legal, I'd think it would be worth it. But I'm no crab fisherman, that's for sure.

Very cool! Brought a bunch of sockeye back this summer. Halibut fishing is getting expensive; and when the limit goes down to one fish a day next year, that's gonna suck!

I did a halibut charter out of Homer, AK back in the early 90's. Had a blast and hit em' for hours on end. Wears your ass out cranking those 'barn doors' off the bottom and then fighting em' on-deck.
