View Full Version : how are you guys running your plate carriers?
are you guys hanging everything off the carrier or running a separate LBV?

Chest rig over plate carrier (Mayflower LPAAC) if the world falls apart. War belt plus LPAAC for classes and the like.
I believe in the layered approach where I can take stuff on and off depending on situation.
I wanted the option of running my plate carrier as concealed as possible should the situation arise.
thats what i was thinking im gonna run it slick(two mags in the front kangaroo pouch and just run my war belt over it.....ill post pictures of my fat ass squeezed into it in a bit
For what purpose? I'm always adjusting my rig to meet the mission requirements.

Short (read as:smart-ass) answer: It depends.
Real answer: The mission drives the gear. While I'm at work I might be wearing a slick plate hanger under a cover-shirt or a combat load over BDUs. It depends on the mission. If I'm running low-pro, I have a chest rig with an H-harness at my feet in the car. If I'm in uniform (or don't care about low-pro) I have a rig clipped into my carrier. One of the things I love about the Mayflower armor carriers is the ability to switch from one rig to another with minimal muss or fuss.
The mission drives the gear.
lol let me specify i have no specific mission just want a good all around setup for classes and shooting around
from reading around on here i took some mags out (thanks mick)and am running a 6 pack on my belt along with a dump pouch and ifak im going to be buying a camelback so ill be tossing that on the belt also
can some of you guys post up pics of some of your setups?

This is similar to my general purpose rig at work (minus the comms).
2nd line – Mayflower low-pro armor carrier and QD chestrig. The chestrig has (from my right to left) a BFG “Trauma Kit Now”, Paraclete rifle mag pouch, BFG Fastmag and BFG ten speed pistol pouch. I've also got a Spartan Blades CQB tool center line.

Yeah, that's the Mayflower QD (all molle) chest rig.

In country I did both. Ran a slick lo profile no nothing plate carrier under my jacket with a mayflower uw rig. I also ran a zip front internal type setup as well. I think I even ran an Eagle all-molle at some point. Point being I liked the versatility. Mission dictates be prepared to change if needed but know where your shit is.
