Good luck, Al!!
i'll be there if anyone wants a YHM qual rail or a MTAC holster
I have to go out of town this weekend, could someone check around on the prices of 7.62x39 ammo in quantity. I'm going to order someone but if it's cheaper at the shows I will wait till next month.
I'm going for a quick walk-through to pick up a couple parts and magazines mainly, but might get some some other odds and ends too, if I happen across something. I actually go to people watch just as much as I do for guns, gear, and ammo. It has become a mad-house.

I'll be there wandering around looking for a deal, bet I'll end up empty handed like usual.
I'll be picking up a few items from Apex, and be trying to sell this M1 carbine flash hider

Next month it will be higher priced and less availability. Buy on line if a LGS does not have it on hand.

Are you the guys with all the M1 Carbine parts? I could not find a sign or am I blind?

I've gotta start figuring out who you guys are in the real world so I can go say hi, I got wrangled into pulling some time at my works booth this morning.

He's right across the aisle from them. He has a dummy RPG sitting at the end of his table.

Was heading to the show this morning and got caught in the I-70 parking lot. Ended up taking the first offramp I could and detouring to 4Wheel Parts. I'll be at the show Sunday tho...SLUF wearing a camo Jeep cap.

The Gent with all the M1 carbine parts is Nick.
He is a friend of mine and I was at his tables a few times today visiting.
I am set up to the right, across the way, on the endcap.
Most of what I have at the show is not what is on the APEX web site.
I do not put up a banner.
In the past another outfits banner frame came down on my wifes head and dropped her to her knees. Left her in pain for days.
A simple mistake on the part of the people who set up that banner frame, but Gloria paid the price. Fortunately it was not worse.
We learned a lesson.
If Sunday is like Saturday I will not be able to get more than a few steps away from our tables!
We were so busy that we almost didn't eat the lunch we brought.
I had to get product out tonight to take back to replace what was sold.
I hope to have the chance to actually talk to some people on Sunday!
Richard
Way more ammo than normal and it was priced fairly and selling at a reasonable rate.
I saw a lot of quality 223 and 556 ammo and some of Yugo 762x39.
More firearm tables and way less junk than past shows. This show was worth going to and today should be better than yesterday. Sunday is usually slower and easier to get around.

The wife and I are heading up after we grab some brunch with some friends.
We are here at the show with plenty of show specials including Sig P938's for $649.

Just got back from the show. One of the busier shows that I have seen, especially before kick-off. I was told yesterday was a complete mad house.

Had a good time Saturday, first trip to a Tanner in about 12 years. My buddy and I got there just before door opened, walked the tables, bought a few mags for my XDm, checked a few deals that I passed up on due to timing and a lack of consistent work...I'll regret that later[Bang]. Buddy got some accesories for his ever evolving collection. We were out by 1130 and across the street at Lock and Load before heading home and snagging a bite to eat. I think we missed some of the big crowds, although it was getting crowded as we decided to leave.

Anybody see the girl trying to steal some gold coins or something on sat? It was about 10am on sat at near one of the north east exit. Funny.

Hope that thief got the shiney silver bracelets and an all expense paid trip w/room and board at the local lockdown. Saw one gal Sunday who was wearing a top that was one deep breath away from full exposure: thought maybe she was a distractor for a partner in crime....sure stole my attention.
I saw like 3 Sheriff cars out front and 5 or 6 officers inside when I left around 11:30-noonish. Was that what it was about?

Yeah I was working the booth close to them and actually was the one to stop her, Turns out from what the security guy said that she was actually one of his employees and snatched some money from the register, he caught her and said "stop him" several times but there was no one heading to the exit but a female, I said "you mean her?" he said yes, she was stopped then we had to tell the guy to go over and explain because he didnt want to leave his table. Anyway, we saw her try to hand him money several times but according to security they just left the area together.

I was leaving at the same time and saw the two cars arrive while I was getting my car. No idea why they were there, I left.

Security guard told me that there was several reported thefts during the show, to include one that happened during the playing of the National Anthem at noontime.

Thefts sucks, I hate them with a passion.
Hello,
I had a question for you all. I am about to graduate my Masters program in two weeks. My graduation present to my self will be my first ar-15. I want a piston driven ar and am looking at either an LWRC, Rec-7, or Sig 516. Mainly the REC7 and Sig because of price point. Not really into the Rock River, or even Ruger. Might even consider a PWS.
Regardless, is it worth even going to look at the Tanner show? People always talk about gun show deals but are the prices going to be better then Gunbroker or GunsAmerica? I have bought three guns off those two websites and have received good deals. I don't want to pay $8 to get into Tanner and see that the prices don't come close to Gunbroker. For instance I can get a Sig 516 with four mags and even a bag on Gunbroker for $1600.

You're looking at $1600 guns and quibbling about an $8 door fee.

IMHO Tanner prices don't compete with Gunbroker. However, figure shipping and FFL fees into the GB price and it should be apples-apples. At the last Tanner there was a table selling a couple of LWRCs, but in my experience they are rare at Tanner. What you see a lot of are DPMS, Rock, Stag, Oly, S&W, a few Colts, and a Spikes or 2.

Thanks for clearing that up! I saw her with the money in her hand and was trying to give it to him, he asked her where the other stuff was and she kept saying it was in the truck. I heard him say stop him!, when everybody turned around.....We will see if there is that much excitement at the next show...lol!
Ya, I went a couple years ago and walked around. Lots of those tables are dudes selling re-manufactured ammo, lots of handguns. I don't remember seeing too many ARs. If I was selling something...anything...then I would know exactly what other well known retailers are selling the same thing for. Just thought others might have insight into AR options at the show. I thought that was what this type of forum was all about helping each other out.

Sho-nuff! I went to the Tanner show a few weeks back and saw about 326 thousand AR's for sale. Uppers, lowers, middles, backs, fronts, complete's, sides, fronts, bottoms, tops, Hopefully you understand there was a shit load of AR's there!! lol! So see you at the show?
Thanks for the insight. I know guys do it all the time, build an AR, but I think I want to start out with a full rifle. I want to complete my purchase before Nov 4th for obvious reasons. If I go DI I was looking at Daniel Defense; I just like all the things they put into their guns.

It seems to me that there are now at least twice as many vendors in the AR game as there were 4 or 5 years ago. A lot of it is definitely politically motivated. I haven't looked closely at the shows enough to notice any piston driven uppers or complete rifles, but I am certain they're there. They have to be, even if only a handful of them. There are simply too many AR's there, not to have one in the mix. Even if you don't find the exact one you're looking for, you can still find deals on accessories, ammo, range bags, magazines, optics, etc. I have often gone and paid the $8 entry fee, for no apparent reason, other to look around and always find something I "need". haha.

Yeah, you really need to go in there looking for what you want and know all of the price points. There are some good deals and mostly average prices. Cash is king in there. I couldn't believe how many AR's were for sale. Go online find all of your price points and have a good time matching them at the show.

Don't forget to add shipping and stuff to those online prices, that way you'll have a more accurate base to use when you start haggling. :)

Also don't forget, you will have the opportunity to see EXACTLY what you are buying and should not have to be concerned about getting a piece of shit that may or may not get lost in transit - IF you were to send for it. Only my worth nothing opinion.[Tooth]

Right-O.
A piece of advice, don't tell the vendor you can get it cheaper online. ;)
Might some of those 200+ guns be any pistons driven ARs?
Buying online is cake. The extra costs really do not amount to much. The average shipping is $30 with another $30 for FFL here at home. A lot of online dealers charge the 3% credit card fees but even on a $900 gun, that is only $27. So you have 30+30+27=an extra $87. The amount of money you save with online dealers vs retail here at home is no comparison. The same gun that costs me $900 online will be usually a couple hundred more at home retail. Add the tax and it is even more. To give you can idea; I bought my H&K P30 online for around $860. Retail was over $1000. I found a shop in FL who shipped for free. I saved at least $200 on that deal buying online vs retail someplace local.

a big part of the show is also catching up with everyone as well as finding cool stuff . but the more i read i see your not really looking for a deal or to even be part of the experience of the gun , your just trolling for the sake of trolling . if you have a buddy ask them to look over the thousands of black guns to find your deal . we are talking over 700 8ft tables most with some sort of black guns. drop the 8 bucks to check it out or dont
