View Full Version : Question about my noveske
I recently acquired a noveske upper from another member.. I am just curious about how noveske marks their uppers. I'm trying to find out what model, and how old this upper is. It is in great condition and I am happy with it. Just curious because the seller also got it in a trade. My question is... My upper ONLY has the iron cross engraved. No forge marking or anything. The noveskes I have seen in person besides mine either have a white cross with a forge marking near it, or a white cross with "noveske" directly beside it. The coss on mine is not white and is not "etched". It also has no T markings, which I heard noveske was slowly phasing out, which leads me to believe that it's newer.. Any help is appreciated.
He is a pic of the upper.

The white could have been done by the owner. Coloring in markings on lowers has been in vogue for some time.
The ones that I've seen we're brand new behind the counter though..

Give noveske a call monday, they can confirm date of mfg, or of a series run.

For the last couple years, they have been lasering their name on their uppers. See below. However, prior to that, they just went with the cross. Used to be you could also tell what began life as a separate upper and lower vs a complete rifle by the fact that they would stamp the cross between the upper and lower on a complete rifle. Don't know if that still holds true.
I'd second the vote on calling and asking Sheri real nicely.

I got just a stripped upper. It only has the cross just like yours. It is most likley a new one. Got mine this past spring.
I am thinking the cross is for the N4 uppers and engraving was on the Switchback and stainless barreled uppers. Please post what you found out.
