I need me some insurance, homeowners primarily. I will be switching my auto soon also but i just paid for 6 months in june and i dont have the money to pay to switch the auto for a month or so.

Right here! Unfortunately, our companies need exceptions (very good ones) for mono-line home policies so I would need auto as well. You can always cancel anytime if you move your homeowners and they want auto, you'll get a refund of premium from the time of cancel to how far out you're paid up until.
However, caveat, after reading your other post, the cancelled due to non-payment (I know not your fault, but companies don't initially look into who's fault it is on that) doesn't help, and with the open claim I wouldn't be able to bind coverage or write the policy until that's taken care of. If they continue to jerk you around, just ask them if you need to hire an attorney, some companies will usually wise up and get their butts moving. Ya thats the problem im having. The claim is closed and i cant get the rest of the money to fix the roof. The house was a foreclosure when we bought it 9 months ago. And the non-payment. Three strikes and now i cant seem to get insurance!
