Idk, cause my body has gone into shock on most or them. 5 surgeries in my life once in the ICU. One time when I was in 5 th grade the neighbors dog bite my leg and tore out some of my calf muscle out. I told them I was fine and could walk home. . It's funny how the body works but honestly I think nagging injuries are the worst bc they don't go away for months

Nothing trumps a kidney stone. Of course i have been fortunate and not experienced (as of yet!) 1 or 4.

That sucks, hope everything works out.

Mine
1 shattered both knees , fractured 3 vertebrae, broke 5 ribs, and a collar bone all at once sky diving.
2 having my knee aspirated when I was 13.
3 every weather change since number 1

Kidney Stone!

Two years ago, during a company event in Chicago, we had a guy force the driver to stop the bus that lacked a head on the way to Wrigley Field to pass a stone. On the return later that evening, the group leader left me behind while I was taking a piss and had to send out a search party.

This year, the smart asses handed us both "Most improved bus ridership" awards.

Stomach ulcer. Wake up in the middle of the night and it feels like someone just bored a hole through your gut with a red hot poker, while kicking you repeatedly in the balls. Makes a broken wrist feel like a paper cut.

Migraine headaches so bad they make me blind in my left eye, that last for days to weeks. Seriously thought I was dying of an aneurysm the first time it happened.

I forgot the gall bladder pain that went undiagnosed for 6 months. Would double me over on the floor.

Ditto on the migraines since I was 14. Also experienced ocular partial blindness and aura. Slurred speach, coordination issues. ER Demerol/Visterol push barely made them tolerable after crawling into bed for 8-12 hours. Very debilitating. Migraine hangover for days after. Thankfully, they started making Imitrix (shots for me) and the Migraines have lessened in frequency and secerity as I've aged. Probably just burned out all the useful brain cells.

Kidney Stones, get them about once a year. The last one was 10mm, and they had to go in and get it.

Also ripped the ball off the top of my humerus, that one hurts all day every day and it happened like 5 years ago.

Broke my leg in half. Foot was facing the opposite direction. Put me in a splint till surgery, on the way to surgery the crutches slipped out from under me and landed on my broken leg.

In a full leg cast for 6 months because i rebroke it while the cast was on. Worst year of my life.

Ruptured gallbladder
Punctured lung
Broken neck (two places)
Broken toes, tibula, femur, knees, hip, ribs, spine (four places), collar bone, shoulder, both arm bones (forgot names) fractured skull, jaw.... ummm everything, lol

What do I win? (Besides a lifetime of chronic pain?...)

No, I'm not an invalid. Yes, I can still run/jump. No, I don't take drugs. Yes, I can still kick your @$$... This Bear don't lay down.

Mine happened when I was 16. I dropped a full bucket of 375 degree oil . When it hit the ground the oil bounced back on my left arm. Melted a bunch of my skin off my arm from the elbow to my palm. Then the boss decided rubbing butter on it would help, that was a bad idea! The hospital had a hard time getting that butter off!

3. High siding a Hayabusa at around 60mph, road rash, borken toes and finger, gravel imbedded into skull.

2. Inguinal hernia after picking a pt up from underneath a truck. Laying in bed that night felt like there was a hot dagger running up my entire right leg.

1. 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 24% of my body along with 6 broken ribs after being blown 35ft out of the door in an explosion. I was very lucky to be weaing all cotton. I had no hair left on my head and very little skin left on my arms.

That didnt hurt when i had it done. The pain when the novicane wore off before the vicodin kicked in made me cry like a little girl. It felt like some one was drilling into my skull with a very dull drillbit. At the same time using a chisel In the same spot. Pain so bad I couldn't even see. And literally had to be led to bed.

Left the first pic as a link. It is a bloody tooth and some may not wish to see that.

dislocated my elbow in a college football game my soph year on special teams punt and cover. I almost got juked, but grabbed the returners jersey and started to pull him down. As I was falling/tackling him, 2 of my own teammates decided to hit my left arm, one on the bicep, the other on the forearm. I just remember watching my elbow to the rubberband stretch game then comeback into place. Ended up going to the er, first time in shock. The drive back from er to catch plane, and plane ride home was F**KING nightmare. 2 surgery's later and it's still f**ked up. Longest trip of my life to frig'n omaha ne.

I blew out my knee my freshman year, it really didn't hurt till the next day. ACL reconstruction was a nightmare. I took a lick'n in college football, and I know if i ever get older, the real pain will begin.

These stories make me feel like I have not suffered any pain in life. My worst experience with pain was when my appendix ruptured. It ruptured three days before I went to the hospital and I had gang green in my stomach. After the surgery I developed a pocket of puss in my belly. The doctor came in and opened up the cut in my stomach and inserted one of those cotton tipped sticks into the hole and "popped" the pocket. It was at this time I started to get my thoughts back as they fled and all I could think about was knocking the doctor out. 2 weeks later I was out of ICU and another week I was sent home.
As far as the marriage pain, I didn't learn the first time so I have experienced that pain twice!

I've got nothing on you guys. My worst was when I sprained my thumb. Hurt so bad I ended up laying on the floor of a public bathroom because I thought I was going to puke. Having my head stomped on concrete and my teeth broken out hurt less. Even my Shingles was really mild. I remember reading symptoms online and thinking, "What a bunch of babies, mine don't hurt that bad."

Broken pelvis during kung fu class. Got my feet knocked out from under me and being the skinny guy that I am, landed right on the big "ear" looking part of my pelvis on the left side. Cracked the top of it right off. Went through rank test and classes for the next 2 weeks, focusing on acrobatics (dive rolls, cartwheels, etc on a concrete & tile floor) all the while not knowing it was broken. Finally had acupuncture to fix it. Massaging the bone back into place was almost worse than breaking it in the first place.

Then almost exactly a month later I tore the ligaments of my right ankle both on the inside and outside of my right ankle. Sprained/torn so bad that if I had broken it, it would have healed about twice as fast.

In 8th grade I wrecked my bicycle on the street going about 35mph. The thick part of my glasses that sits behind my ear was the only thing that saved my face from being ripped off. It had landed under my cheek bone and was ground paper thin by the time I came-to.

Compressed vertebrae in high school from squatting wrong. Months of chiropractic and therapy.

Oxygen deprivation was awful too. Raced a friend of mine underwater almost 50 meters as fast as I could. As soon as I came up from underwater, I had the worst headache I've ever had. My head literally felt like it was splitting open. I threw up over 20 times before I made it home. Had to pull over about every minute on the way home (yeah, drove myself home) to vomit and get my vision back. Spent the whole night on the bathroom floor, with only enough energy to pull myself up to the toilet to puke again and again. For the next week or so, I had headaches like I couldn't believe.

My final kung fu test to become a teacher. A full day's worth of pain worse than anything I could have ever imagined prior. Within the first 10 minutes, I was more tired and in more pain that I had ever been in previously. It literally almost killed me.

#1 most painful thing ever in my life are pinched l4 and l5 nerves in my lower back. At its worst, it was hard for me to breathe it hurt so bad, a fentynal IV (100x stronger than morphine) helped for about 2 minutes. Getting surgery on Sept 27th to cut part of my disc out that is compressing the nerve. Wish me luck.

#2 was when my nerve block wore off 14 hours early after labral tear surgery in my right shoulder. Effing terrible.

#3 was a steam burn on my right hand. It was okay of I kept my hand in ice water, but I'd I took it out....the wrath of god was upon my hand.

For me ...

I'd say the time the docs at DG stuck a needle the size of a garden hose ( I swear it was that big around!!) under my knee cap to draw out fluid to figure out why my right leg was swollen up like a balloon ... oh and they forgot to give me the novocain first..... Doc was surprised I didn't hit him.. so was I .. I told him to leave very quickly before I changed my mind LOL ..

That hurt more then either of my major motorcycle wreaks ( one of which left me with an AC separation of grade 3 )

Went in for surgery, a couple minutes after they gave me the novacaine, I was out like a light. Until he finished and put a cap in. I swear it felt like he shoved a number 2 pencil into my head. It instantly woke me up and I was climbing up the back of the chair.

Either you guys are too embarrassed to tell, or I'm the only who's had this happen.

I zipped myself up at age 11. I had finished my business, and zipped up my pants. I couldn't believe what happened. I started crying immediately. It was bad, the head and skin got caught in the zipper. I was sobbing for like 10 minutes before I went to where my family was. I was too embarrassed to say anything so I just started sobbing loudly. My dad caught on, took me aside and tried to unzip me. That only made it worse, and I started to bleed. The family stormed off with me to the emergency room after that. I've never been anywhere close to that pain again.

Most of these stories sure beat mine. Mine are my appendicitis, complicated by peritonitis and fluid buildup; and the time my doc decided I needed cortisone shots in my elbow. Probably wouldn't have been so bad, except I had a simultaneous case of tendonitis, gout, and bursitis. Three shots...oh man, that hurt.

Went for a planned spinal tap March of this year... Ended up with a hematoma from my L2 all they up to my shoulder blades encompassing my spinal cord 360 degrees. I was fortunate nothing ruptured upstairs or it was going to be lights out. Couldn't feel anything from the waist down or walk. Spent a month in between the hospital and rehab center learning to walk again.

When I came to in the ICU I felt like I had fire running through all my veins and didn't now where I was or what had happened. That lasted for almost 4 days before I came back to reality.

Only good thing was when they asked who the president was I couldn't remember..[LOL]

I think about all the stupid things I've done in my life that could have resulted in serious injury or death. After all of that it turns out to be a needle in the back is what almost did me in. Well at least so far that is..

Not as bad as some.

Separated my tibula and fibula at the ankle and tore the deltoid ligament of the ankle and broke the fibula in half. Drunk as hell when it happened and it kinda hurt then. Had surgery the next day and woke up to my anke being the size of a cantelope. Could not put my foot down for a week cause the blood russing to it made it feel like it was going to explode. I am paying for it now 15 yrs later with more pain.

The extent of pain is usually related to the cause of the CNS injury or damage. Pain is typically constant, may be moderate to severe in intensity, and is often made worse by touch, movement, emotions, and temperature changes, usually cold temperatures. Individuals experience one or more types of pain sensations, the most prominent being burning. Mingled with the burning may be sensations of "pins and needles;" pressing, lacerating, or aching pain; and brief, intolerable bursts of sharp pain similar to the pain caused by a dental probe on an exposed nerve. Individuals may have numbness in the areas affected by the pain.

Kidney stone. I have had plenty of broken bone, strains, sprains, stictches etc, but the kidney stone was by far the worst pain I have ever felt.

Back in 1981 I broke my neck working in Libya in the oil field, that sucked very loudly. Throat swelled shut tighter than a butthole, no pain meds, good times.

Snapped the ACL in my right knee in 2005, that hurt pretty well too.

Had a hard landing skydiving once and got a 25% compression fracture of L1 vertebrae, that was fun. Hurt like a motherfucker.

Pain ain't no stranger to me.

When I was 8, I went in for a football physical and they found out that lefty had decided to go on a vacation and they had to manually bring him home. They cut a 4" incision above my peter, found him, and put him back in his sack. I couldn't walk for three weeks afterwards. That's by far the worst pain I've been in.

Back surgery followed up by a staph infection that turned into meningitis... that was a hell of ride.
Chest tubes suck too, feels like there is 10 feet of hose shoved inside of you and every time you even make an attempt to take a breath it hurts like no other.

Ok guys...you probably won't hardly believe me but...I have never broken anything. Never sprained anything. I did dislocate my sholder a few times but that wasn't too bad on the pain scale. Was in several car crashes and spent almost a week strait in ICU but they kept me well doped up.

Frankly the worst I think I have had was a sinus and ear infection. My entire head hurt and down my neck into my back. I spent a week with a hotpack on it nearly 24/7 before going to the doctor. Took 5 batches of antibiotics over about 2 months to get rid of it. Ended up with the left side of my face paralysed for 6 months from the pressure on the nerves. It was caused by toxic mold growing in my home. Had to sue the HOA to force repairs to the building. Was unable to live in my home for almost 2 years while dealing with courts and lawyers.

I havent broken anything or sprained a thing. My worst physical pain would be a nasty case of heart burn in the middle of the night a few years back.
Hmmmmm or maybe the time I thought I was going to die because of a little too much wine and beer on Thanksgiving one year.........wow that was a bad one! [Beer]

Damned if I didn't do that last winter, for the first time in my life. Got up in the middle of the night to let my ailing dog outside because she was letting out a series of desperate "I'VE GOT TO GO NOW!" barks. Just threw on a pair of pants, commando so as not to waste time, and was zipping on the run when, YIKES, zipped er right up into the zipper. Had to unzip to escape, and was purple for days. Yep, you're right, kinda hurts.

I've been shot, stabbed, burned, hit with 480volts a/c, nearly drowned, 18 knee surgeries, broken my leg, wrist, 4 ribs, jaw, poisoned by cyanide, had my left eyelid cut off, but the worst pain was earlier this summer when I had "cluster" migraines. I had 20 migraines in an hour, one on top of the other, three days in a row.

Someone hurt my feelings once.

Most of the serious injuries I had did not hurt as much as the minor ones (knee, back, tendon). I am missing a few parts, but I have been somewhat fortunate so far.

Testicular Torsion

Ouch. I had Epididymitis in my early twenties. Inflammation of the tube that connects the vas to your testicle. One nut swelled to the size of a grapefruit. Very painful. One week bed rest.

Can't compare to what some of you have gone through but the two that spring to mind are

2. Putting contacts in my eyes after scrubbing my hands inadequately from crushing red peppers. Obviously I pulled the contacts immediately but I just fell down on the floor and couldn't move for 45 minutes.

1. Having iodine injected into dog bite wounds in both hands.

I carry because I've been busted up so much I can't get away from my own fart smells, let alone get away from danger. Many more injuries than I mentioned, but several here have me beat by far. I feel like easy meat to thugs, so I intend to be a dangerous target whenever possible.

Upper proximal femur fracture. My femur broke in half (jagged break) near the hip. Tore the surrounding muscles to shreds. My body didnt grant me the peace of going into shock. Was 2 hours until I was at the field hospital, 1 more until I was at the real hospital. Had a rod from my hip to my knee inserted in the middle of the bone, as well as 3 screws to hold it in place. Was about 5-6 months before I was fully healed. Ouch.
