Just finished season 4 on netflix, and about to play catch up for this season. I have watched so much Breaking Bad that I can't stop dreaming about it when I sleep. SOA, seems boring to me in comparison....hahaaha

Why? Although we all like to root for Walt, in real life we'd celebrate Skylar and pray for Walt's death.

Thats something I like about this show. Before you know it, you are sucked into Walt's madness and viewing everyone else as the bad guy.

...he sure is. I'm actually a lot more sympathetic for Skylar now, even tho she is annoying as all get out. Walt's desire to be the "meth king" and increasing callousness is making failure inevitable...

I quit after season 1.

Breaking Bad is the rarest of shows: a show I can't watch because it's too good at what it sets out to do.

Walt starts as a sympathetic guy, and you really feel for him even though his choice is wrong. Then the show illustrates perfectly why that choice was wrong; that first choice has lead to all his other choices, necessitated them in fact, and you can see the trainwreck that's going to be his life from about the end of season 1 onwards.

It's painful. It's actually a really good morality play, to watch his corruption that all originates with 1 very bad choice. But I can't watch it.

Meth turns decent people into scumbags. Halfway through Season 1 I lost whatever sympathy I might've had for Walt . . . because he had become a scumbag, even though he wasn't actually using. He should've just shot himself in the face, but then they would not have gotten 3 more seasons out of this show. I fail to see the appeal.

Ever seen a massive trainwreck? It's that, except it's a fairly normal guy turning into the most evil bastard you can imagine.

It is. The start of "Blood Money" takes place shortly after he left the Denny's parking lot in "Live Free or Die", advancing the end of the series plot just a little bit before diving back in time to fill in more backstory, picking up where "Gliding Over All" left off.

DISCLAIMER::: Only 1/2 way through S5. That kid jessie should have been offed once he fucked up, the first time. The spouse she should have been turned out for fun & profit. PROVIDING she was unable to talk.

EVERYONE in that show deserves to be killed for their stupidity. It's been 4 -5 months since we stopped watching S5. It's not one of those MUST SEE shows, for me. The spouse thinks it's a good show, go figure.

He was supposed to be killed in the first season, but proved too popular and was kept around. Writers need to take a que from George R.R. Martin and learn that you can kill likable characters and people will still keep watching.

What is the statute of limitations on spoiler alerts? Do different media types have different limits? I'd say that books should have longer limits than television and movies. Not sure where plays stand though.

If you're a reader, go ahead and read the books first. HBO is doing a great job with the show so far. Not sure how well they'll be able to stick to the story from this point on though. They've technically got two books worth of material before they reach the point where R.R. Martain has run out of published material.
