Kelly wants you to know about a swarm called "Inexpensive .223 or 5.56mm Ammo".
A brief description of the swarm:
Any type of NEW ammo, either commercial production OR military bulk surplus ammunition from a reputable NATO or 1st world country.
You should check it out by going to this url:
http://www.eswarm.com/index.php?module=swarm&action=view&swarmId=212
I'm hoping to force a HUGE swarm into being. 150.00 per 1000rds if we can get it.

News update, I have a meeting with the co-founder watching over this swarm this weekend, we're in a curious position, we have some suppliers that can meet the price, but don't have 400,000rds on hand OR we have suppliers that have the 400,000+rds but are balking at the 150.00 price.
If you know someone sitting on the fence waiting, NOWS the time to get in. Seriously.
So we ARE making progress and attractive positive attention. I'll keep everyone posted.

You have to go to eSwarm and sign up in the link above.
Actually, they're a local Denver company to boot!

Could you explain WTF this is about, in plain Engrish?
It sounds like a group buy with: no vendor, no product, no timeline, and unrealistic pricing.

wow. you are a rude sob.. if you would just go to the eswarm website it is all there.. just read or you can just ignore this thread
from eswarm "how it works"
"Join or Start a Swarm
First, search for what you want on our homepage. You can simply type in the name of what you want, the name of who started the swarm you want to join, or you may enter a phrase that corresponds with the terms and conditions set forth on the supplier.
Browse through our "search results" pages for swarms you may want to join. If one looks good to you, join it. If you can't find what you're looking for, then start your own swarm. Just remember, often it's to your advantage to join an existing swarm.
If you decide to start a swarm, simply click the "Start a Swarm" button and follow the simple instructions.
Spread the Word and Grow the Swarm
The bigger your swarm, the better the chance that registered suppliers will bid against each other to sell to your swarm. So spread the word any way you can! People searching the web for the same product or service for the best prices could discover and join your swarm!
When a swarm completes with a winning supplier, the user who started the swarm gets paid a generous referral fee based on the total value of the swarm. So if you start a swarm, get out there and spread the word!
Suppliers bid to supply your swarm - watch prices plunge!
As a swarm grows, it becomes more and more attractive to a supplier because more business is at stake. When a supplier places a bid, the size of the swarm freezes; at that point, no new members may join. For 48 hours, suppliers may bid against each other for the right to supply the swarm. When this happens, prices drop lower and lower for swarmers who've joined.
Connect With Your Supplier and Receive Your Product
Once the 48-hour bidbattle ends, eSwarm unites the swarmers with a winning registered supplier. At this point, all buyers exchange payment and shipping (if necessary) information with a supplier. "
eSwarm collects transaction fees and distributes referral fees to the user who started the swarm.
I was trying to be humorous instead of rude, should've used a bunch of smilies but I can't find the button for those on this reply interface.
If the author has a supplier along the front range with a stock of first-quality ammo at a reasonable price, that is of great interest. I'll bring cash and drive away with the rear bumper dragging from all the weight.
But I can't read minds to tell what some site trying to sell Safeway gift cards at less than face value with a fraction of proceeds supporting the Bill Fucking Clinton Foundation has to do with ammo. "Registered suppliers" will fight over selling selling consumer electronics, debt refinancing, prescription medicines, and who knows what else at below going prices?
It's confusing, so I asked the question.
Peace, dude.

sorry man, i have seen alot of post on other forums like that and they were beeing rude, just did not want to see that here.. all good
the markup on alot of things out there is very high, even if safeway was to sell 5000 $50 cards for $40 they would still make $$$$. even if that ment they broke even, they are betting on you spending more, and they would be correct. when was the last time you walked out of wafeway under $40? LOL
does anyone know what the true cost is to make 1000 rounds of .223 in a large manufacturing company??
Is this something new? Never heard of it, but it sounds good. I'd want the .45 230gr. FMJ though.

My thoughts exactly. Things have cleared up a bit now but the initial post was VERY vague and not enough information provided. A good spot to start would have been explaining WTF a "swarm" is. Sadly, someone else had to come along and do that.

Ok I'm sorry that I didn't post a direct link to the how it works page, so here ya go:
http://www.eswarm.com/index.php?module=howitworks
I figured everyone would see the big blue tab on the main page and click it.*sighs*
As for the whole supply/demand argument, we HAVE generated a lot of interest from both manufacturers and distributors. There's a lot that I know that I'm not comfortable talking about right now cause sure as shit, if I do, and this doesn't happen someone will blame me and burn me with my hopes.
But here's some facts:
I don't work for eSwarm.
I don't care a whit about the .01% referral fee eSwarm pays, I'm donating mine to www.americansnipers.org.
I only started this swarm to try and get some ammo for cheap.
If someone thinks they can do better, start your own swarm, seriously.
As for this little gem:
It sounds like a group buy with: no vendor, no product, no timeline, and unrealistic pricing.
Did you read the swarm at ALL? It has time deadlines, quality requirements, quantity requirements and pricing. The purpose of the swarm is to attract the vendor, which is the last peice.
Everyone is quick to point fingers at how this won't work. I'm open to constructive, intelligent help. Its like guns, we tell people that are afraid of guns if don't like them, don't buy one. Same here, if you don't think it'll work, then let those of us that want to try to do so and leave us alone.

I'm the 200th in on this swarm; I sure hope it gets a bid.
Thanks for turning me onto this concept. I never even heard
of it until I found the link here. Funny that every other swarm
I saw had 10 or less in on it.
As for CO AR-15, I'm a new member and I've enjoyed the site very
much so far. Excellent information, well run & organized. I would
recommend to any new members such as myself to read the various
FAQs as I found them to be very informative.
Cheers,
Jason

The offer has expired. I got an email back after the close of this
swarm. No supplier bids received. There's another
swarm for 9mm luger (listed as lugar) for those interested; no
representation or affiliation with the listing, just what I saw.
After checking some of the listings I haven't seen any items with a
supplier bid. It could be that the site is so new that suppliers/companies
are largely unaware of it. I'll keep an eye on it though. I would consider
supporting a Boulder-based organization that doesn't outright exclude
firearm-related items. *stepping down off the soapbox*
I missed the .223 Eswarm but would be interested if there was any left over.
Is this something new? Never heard of it, but it sounds good. I'd want the .45 230gr. FMJ though.
I would also be interested in one.
Tom
The deal did not happen/was never acknowledged by an ammo supplier."Anyone" can start their own swarm. Just contact the site. www.eswarm.com.
If that many people get on board at a more (un)reasonable price, and suppliers are made aware...
