After almost a year without shooting (running your own business has downsides), a friend said "hey, it's going to be maybe 80 degrees, there's no tourney, let's go to Colo Clays
we did, I did ok, 61, not bad for literally not touching a shotgun since about last August.
Hardest station ever, #9 (they were changing the whole course, so it won't be there)
Report pair
#1, rabbit, showing it's black side, running down a cliff, behind about a foot of grass, you could just barely see it. Oh, it was about 25 yards away too.
#2, incomer, quartering, showing you the black side, up against the cliff, going the other way as #1 and moving very fast.
Brutal.
Fun, but brutal.

CO Clays always has a tough course when we all went for the CO club shoot they said they made the course easier from the weekend before and it was a bitch. They said the weekend before there was a registered shoot and a mid 80's won it. He said there was a score in the 60's in the master class. [Shock]

I wish I could have went with ya and blasted some clays.

I've noticed #9 as being one of the toughest stations that Colorado clays has to offer. Why I don't know? I think it's the hill and little gully on the right side. It's where I've seen the rabbit before. They ran it down hill right into the ditch. And the left side is where they like to zip one towards you quartering away low through the trees. Very tricky indeed. Today was Shotgun Demo days at Kiowa Creek and I got to shoot some beautiful guns. We also shot a round of sporting clays and I pulled off another 60 ( It's becoming my new average). The rabbit was my downfall. It was a true double with two rabbits bouncing all over the place. Ridiculously funny! Joanne had a good laugh. [Bang]

rabbits need one foot of lead
you'll get them every time
also, no matter how close it is, use #8 or #7.5 shot, rabbits are tougher clays (so they don't break rolling along the ground)
