Just picked up an XDs for the wife. We like the M&P Shield, but nobody had one in stock, and gunforall.com has XDs' in stock. Plus, I carry an XDm .45 compact, so now we match! [Beer]

Congrats - I'd be curious to hear about the recoil on that little XDs

Do they do online sales? I'm in Afghanistan, so I can't physically go get it.

It doesn't appear that they do.

Love to hear your review on it. Been interested in those.
Firing Line carries them as well. You would need to check with them however on how to go about purchasing it. They are only $550 there however and I love my XDs!

If all these local shops are selling them, I may just have to wait to buy one at a brick and mortar shop when I get home. The online sellers are all sold out.

BAM! Just found a gun club from Arizona that had one in stock. They sold it to me for $550 out the door. I will be sure to do a nice range review of it for you guys when I get back.

Have one. Recoil is ample, but manageable. The grip is so thin it's pretty hard for me to hold on to. I have to reacquire proper grip after every shot. Very accurate and very reliable, though.
I just picked up a couple of the extended mags with the sleeve. Haven't fired it with one of those yet.

Let me know how those work for you! Might be a good spare mag for carry/range use!

Imho recoil is unpleasant as is. Much improved with the factory extended mag. It is perfect for what it is though. A flat, large caliber, concealable semiautomatic pistol.

Well, after shooting the XDs (my dad's, not the actual one that I bought), I have to say I'm not a fan. I can't really put my finger on why, but that thing is very difficult for me to be accurate with. I can shoot one hole groups all day long with lots of other pistols, including little pocket .380's, but I can't even keep all the rounds on a sheet of paper at 7-10 yards with that XDs. There are no indicators of any shooting related problems, such as stringing shots, they just hit all over the place like a shotgun pattern. Myself and 2 other shooters had the same results. The gun WAS, however, perfectly reliable in function, and the recoil really wasn't terrible at all. The gun we were shooting wasn't her actual gun, but I don't expect the results to be too different with hers. I think we are going to shoot HER XDs and see if there is any difference. If it also proves to be too difficult to shoot well, you guys will see it in the trading post and she'll stick with her .380 that she can hit her target with.

Everything in their store is for sale on gunbroker. If that helps.
